Could Brit-Brit be considering appearing on another awards show stage just a week after her MTV Video Music Awards debacle?

Us Weekly is reporting:

Yes, according to an Emmy Awards show source, who tells Usmagazine.com that Fox network brass were “in negotiations” with Brit’s camp as of Thursday afternoon to get her on this Sunday night’s annual telecast. The source adds that while her appearance has not yet been confirmed, “the idea is to have her come on and apologize for the VMAs. She’s weighing the offer.“

The source adds:

Though Spears has been keeping a low profile since the show, a source tells Us that at least some within her inner circle are receptive to the Emmy idea and are urging her to do it. However, a source close to Spears says: “I can’t say this is 100 percent not true. All I can say is that the Emmy people aren’t dealing with her record company, her manager or her agents at William Morris. So if she is doing anything for the Emmys then it’s not going through the official channels.”

Timbaland in a recent interview with MTV News’ Sway, said he doesn’t rule out a future collaboration between Britney Spears and her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake but she has to say “I’m sorry”.

“She should humble herself and make a phone call and say, ‘I’m sorry.’ She knows what she’s sorry about,” Timbaland said. “She needs to say, ‘I was wrong,’ and it’ll definitely move forward. … That’s all she has to say.”

As previously reported, Brit-Brit was rumored to have pulled out of a possible collaboration at the last minute with JT and Timbaland, which offended them.

The producer went on to say that:

“She has no comeback story. That’s the problem. She has to have a team. She needs to come back with Justin doing records; [then we'd see headlines like,] ‘She went back to her ex and she’s making smashes.’ [But instead she got] so big-headed and [was] like, ‘Screw you, screw you, I don’t need nobody.‘ “

Britain’s The Sun is reporting that Britney right before her performance went into a rage over her hairdo (and I can see why!) and was so upset she had to be given anti-depressants by her doctor.

An MTV source told The Sun:

“The scene in the dressing room before the show was one of absolute blind panic. She knew she hadn’t rehearsed enough and was going to mess up the whole show and possibly her career – then she saw her hairdo and it was the final straw. She went into a wild rage and started lashing out at everyone — including her stylist.” In a desperate attempt to quick resolve the pre-show problem, Brit’s handlers at the Las Vegas Palms Casino fetched her doctor, who had the embattled songstress pop the prescription pills.

The source said: “Britney took enough to floor an elephant. They calmed her down — but were clearly too effective.”

In other Britney Spears news, she and Kevin Federline agreed to meet face to face yesterday in a lawyers office.

A source tells me Spears and Federline may be meeting—right now!—at the Los Angeles offices of Spears’ attorney, Laura Wasser.Federline is seeking primary custody of their two kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Buzz around the building has it that the two arrived separately about an hour ago. Federline was spotted entering through the main lobby, while Spears apparently took a more private path through a side entrance.

I’m told they agreed to meet in an attempt to avoid attending a court hearing scheduled for this coming Monday.

In the mist of the custody battle, the press (Us Weekly) continues to try to draw blood from Brit-Brit for her MTV VMAs.

Britney Spears didn’t end up working with Criss Angel on her VMA comeback performance, but her stage show was certainly full of illusions. Her lip-syncing was meant to give her the appearance of an actual singer, and her spray-on tan was supposed to make it look like she’d spent hours in the gym (as opposed to the bar).

“She had an ab-defining spray tan pre-show to create the illusion of more tone,” a source tells Us.
