As the 2009/2010 awards season comes around, the red carpet events are lining up and last night, right after MTV European Music Awards, the Latin Grammy Awards were held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Alicia Keys is set to drop her new studio album, The Element of Freedom, on December 15th. The project’s first single “Doesn’t Mean Anything” isn’t performing as well as most of us would have expected, so it’s only fitting that we now have the second single from the project. “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” is another mellow jam & I actually like this one a bit more than the first single. I hope it does well!

Last week we were given a small taste of what to expect from Alicia Keys’ brand new video for “Doesn’t Mean Anything”, and I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect other than that she would look absolutely stunning. Alicia hit us with another simple, yet sophisticated video that doesn’t draw too much attention from the song itself. It’s not my favorite video, but hopefully this P. R. Brown directed clip can give her single a boost on the charts.

October 15th marked the 6th annual Keep A Child Alive Benefit Ball for the Keep A Child Alive charity created by singer Alicia Keys. Some of the industry’s best came out to show support for the cause including Mary J Blige, Usher, John Mayer, and Halle Berry, just to name a few.
