Alicia Keys Forced To Cancel Shows!

Alicia Keys has been forced to cancel her second straight show in a row in Cleveland Ohio due to a vocal illness. In addition to Alicia canceling shows, her opening act Jordin Sparks (American Idol winner) has also missed several shows due to a vocal illness. Something must be in the air love muffins, lets hope they both make a speedy recovery.

Alicia is refusing to apologize for her comments regarding the governments involvement in “gangsta raps” rise- but saying that she did not actually - in fact - say what the media is saying that she said. She continues to support her belief that the media fueled the east coast west coast beef and that the government could have done more to help the community of people that these rappers were speaking on. So Love Muffins - according to Keys - no conspiracy theory actually exists. Blender is standing by their original article. Love Muffins who do you believe? I’m going to side with Alicia on this one. We all know that the press has a way of twisting folks words to try and get a more scandalous story. Thoughts?

Alicia Keys Dishes Conspiracy Theories

In the latest issue of Blender Magazine, Grammy Winner, Alicia Keys blames the US government for the deaths of rappers Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G. In the interview, the singer opened up about her political views and conspiracy theories. Keys claimed that the US government invented ‘gangsta rap’ with a purpose. She said that the rappers’ slayings were fuelled by “the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing”. The 27-year-old singer also claimed that the ‘gangsta rap movement’ never existed, but was created “as a ploy to encourage black people to kill each other”. I just wanna thank Alicia Keys not only for making positive music but also for speaking her truth without fear. Double Kisses!

Alicia Keys: Stripped, Raw, and Real

I know it’s a lot of music post right now but what can I say, I’m in a musical mood. Anyway, A couple of months ago, Alicia Keys did a show for Clear Channel Entertainment called “Stripped, Raw and Real” where she performed 6 songs in promotion of her new album. I got my hands on the mp3s from that show and they were really good quality so I thought I’d share. My favorite song of the night was her rendition “Tender Love” (A cover of the Force MD’s classic for all my 80s music fans out there). She had me worried with her cover of The Fray’s “How To Save A Life” but Ms. Keys has totally redeemed herself with this one. Her version is just amazing.

One-hit wonder Uncle Sam also did a version of Tender Love that I used to have on repeat while in boarding school. Ahhh the memories. If you don’t remember who Uncle Sam is, he’s the guy who sang “I Don’t Ever Want To See You Again”.

And we must never forget the original song sung by Force MD’s and written by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. The video looks corny now but trust me, it’s a classic. Where are all my 80’s fans?
