LBS Exclusive: B.Scott Interview w/ Chilli…

Chilli, from the legendary girl group TLC, is back on the scene with her super smash single - “Dumb Dumb Dumb.” Dumb Dumb Dumb is the first single off Chilli’s solo album, tentatively entitled “Bipolar” which will be released this year. Chilli (Rozanda Thomas) has been in the music industry for many years, starting out as a dancer and then moving on to become the “C” and the “Sexy” in TLC. I’m very confident that she needs no introductions because who doesn’t know the many songs that rocked our worlds when we were coming up like: “Creep,” “Baby Baby Baby” and “Waterfalls.” And who didn’t get their cry on the first time they saw the video for “Unpretty” or start calling any man that didn’t step to them correct a scrub after the smash hit - “No Scrubs.” And even if you didn’t know what a ’scrub’ was when you first heard of the song - Chilli was sure to let you know with a body roll and in b-boy stance in the video that “a scrub is a guy that thinks he’s fly and is also known as a buster.” And we thanked her for educating us on the topic of scrubs. Love muffins, on Thursday I had the opportunity to conduct a super duper splendiferous interview with the amazingly talented Stephan Jones! Remember my video about meeting Stephan Jones at Venice Beach last week? Well you know that I had to interview him! I cannot stress the fact that this beautiful man (inside and out) has a genuine and kind heart who just so happens to be able to sing his a$$ off as well. Stop The Hate In 2008 Responses!

Thank you so much love muffins for supporting me and connecting with the message of my video where I implored people to “Stop The Hate 2008″ - the above video response and the below letter give me hope that I am making some type of change in this at times hateful world. Once again thank you for the thousands of support emails, messages and comments - I really do feel your love and positive energy!

Hey B!

Love you! Love you! I just watched your Stop the Hate in 08 video and used it to start up a discussion about homophobia with my 7 year old son. I was introduced to you by CL a few months ago at a time when I was really hurting in life and needed a distraction. Your distraction soon turned into lessons on sincere love and respect and friendship and craziness and fun and so many many positive things. You have made a huge impact on my life and I’m a better, stronger woman because of it. I’ve said it many times before, but THANK YOU. You’re my saving grace. So, when I hear about all this drama and ridiculous stupidity coming from my own brothers and sisters over at CL, I’m just shocked. (Really, I guess I shouldn’t be that surprised. Living in So. Cali in a very diverse neighborhood has made me forget that the rest of the world is very unfortunately close-minded) But how could anyone have a problem with your shining light and the joy you bring with your words? It saddens me that they’d be so blind. Like you said, for someone to have such hatred toward homosexuals, or really, any general group of people, shows a lack of self-esteem. These are the people who are most in need of your insight. I wish they would just sit back and listen to your encouraging words. So….I ask my son what he thinks of you. He says you’re funny and weird. I tell him him it’s nicer to say “different”. lol (We already talked about you being “different” because you’re “pretty like a girl!” and say Love Muffin all the time. I explained some people are just like that! He said, Oh ok!”) I told him about some people being mean to you because they thought you were different and he got upset! He said “So what if he looks like a girl?! He’s funny! He’s not hurting anybody…” I explained some people just don’t like different and he said that’s just like “those Martin Luther King days, huh?” I told him yes, that’s exactly what it’s like. Those folks didn’t like Black people and now these Black folks, who should know better, don’t like people like B.Scott. They forgot what Dr. King meant when he said “content of their character.” My son said the hate must have made you sad and suggested I send you some chocolate! (Gotta love him. Chocolate is my personal remedy when I’m feeling down! ) So, for me, stopping the hate in ‘08 will begin at home. None of my children will ever hate. They will be filled with love and will know how to love EVERYONE. I love you B. Keep ya head up…just like you taught me. Double Kisses!

Please allow me take this time to say that my most recent video is not at all a negative shot at Angel and Concreteloop.com - but the message is really just me pouring out my heart about how necessary it is for us to Stop The Hate In 2008!

People seem to want to SAVEBSCOTT. Let’s be clear about one thing Love Muffins! I love the Lord - he heard my cry and pitied every groan - long as I live and trouble rise I’ll hasten to his throne.

A major factor in HATE is ignorance. You know? Really get this and understand that “people perish for lack of knowledge.” And yes - I have to go there. All the way there. How dare people call themselves lovers of God, claim to “know” him and have a relationship with him but only spew words of anger and intolerance? This is not the way to get your point across. I am me. I am B.Scott and that’s all I know how to be. I believe that God made me the way that I am. But even if you disagree and you believe that I am damned to hell… hating me and being evil and ugly and angry is not the way to win me over or “save me from my sin.” The Bible even says that - You hate the sin - Not the sinner. And I’m not saying that I in any way believe that my lifestyle is a sin - I’m just saying - the methods have to be different. What about compassion? What about practicing the true ideas of Christ? What about loving your neighbor as you love yourself? What about “he without sin cast the first stone?” What about the fact that Christ says that even in our righteousness we (in our flesh) are all filthy rags? I could go on and on… but the point is - HATE is not, has never been, and is never ever going to be the way to bring change.

Come on people. We have to learn to love one another. We have to learn to foster change in our communities. We have to learn that whatever you say - is what you will have. So when has calling someone an ugly name - ever brought forth something beautiful? If you keep on sowing ignorance and intolerance and hate - you will get the same in return. All I can do is pray that people will one day really realize that you have to have your own personal relationship - you can’t get to heaven for B.Scott - and B.Scott surely can’t get to heaven for you… Now I’m not challenging anyone to a “Who Can Quote The Most Scripture Contest” however I am offering to you a different approach to this thing. If Love Can Conquer A Multitude of Things… Why don’t we try that out and see how that works in our favor rather than continuing to move further and further away from Gods true intent for his people - which is to love one another and bless him in our obedience…
