December 4, 2009 New Music: Alicia Keys Ft. Beyoncé – Put It In A Love Song
When the news broke that Alicia Keys would have Beyoncé as a feature I couldn’t help but get excited. Today, the highly anticipated track “Put It In A Love Song” hit the internet with only a few weeks left until the release of Alicia’s brand new album The Element of Freedom. Both ladies sound fantastic over the mellow, steady, beat of the drums. The sparse piano every now and then is a nice touch. Love muffins, get into the track below and let me know what you think!

Love it! I probably wouldnt like if Beyonce wasnt on it though
Beyonce is doing an unusual amount of Collabos with her competition lately. Who is next, Ciara? Lolz, not. Alicia and Gaga have strong voices. Its also great how they dont outdo each other. The song really expresses their signature sounds though.

The beat is off the hook and thier voices together is on of the best collabrations that will go #1 for 2010. Yes put it in a love song is off the chain.

alicia sounds uncomfortable, i dont think she should have done this song with such a strong beat because it makes her sound weak, her voice isnt powerful enough to over shadow the beat, but bey’s alto rides the beat and im not a fan of her, im not really liking alicia now days either

Though it’s not as perfect as I’d like it to be, it’s gonna be hot in 2010.

i didn’t care for it too much… i think they should collaborate on a smoother, more laidback soulful type ballad than this mess

Um…I’m not sure how I feel about this song. Maybe I need to hear it a few more times. I like Beyonce’s part ok but Alicia sounded odd to me. I was expecting more of a ballad for the two of them to be dueting together. So, I’m still on the fence with this.

mmh…not too sure about this one. I am a fan of both but wish it was a smooth ballad without the urban pop thing. They both have amazing voices for a smooth ballad. This one just sounds more of a Bey thing and not Alicia especially when Bey is a featuring on the song.

It’s a good tune, but then everything miss keys do is good. And the do blend well together. Beyoncé is a good singer, i just think she tends to overdo sometimes.
Can’t wait to buy the album.

I like Beyonce’s verse, though I generally like both artists. Overall, the rest of the song comes across as lazy and pointless.

Awful. Sounds too much like pop, and Alicia doesn’t sound like herself. Fail!

I really wanted to like this because, hey, it’s Alicia Keys & Beyonce but this song is unbelievably bad. The tempo is erratic, Alicia’s voice, which is usually so husky, soulful and sensual sounds like she’s been sucking on a helium balloon. They’re trying too hard to make this a dance club hit. Trying too hard to get the gay boys to flip over it like they did over Single Ladies. I agree with the OP who suggested they should have sung a ballad.

I just don’t think this song is all that good! I mean, you have two of the hottest females out right now on the same track and this is the best they can do? When i heard that these two were going to do a song togehter i knew that it was going to have to be a fast joint because we all know that if they would have slowed it down and really got into the vocals theres no WAY Alicia would have been able to hang with Beyonce. I give this song a C at best.
