Love muffins I just finished watching the 2009 American Music Awards and let me say it was quite the show! The performances were pretty good, some of the better show performances I’ve seen this year. The performers included Janet (who opened the show with a fabulous medley), Whitney Houston, Shakira, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige…the list goes on! Jennifer Lopez returned to the music scene with her performance (Did any of you notice she fell?) and Lady Gaga came out and tore the house down with her dramatic performance and stellar vocals. She never fails to deliver!

Whitney’s performance was easily the best of the night!! Lady Gaga, Mary, Alicia Keys and Jay-Z were great too!!
I saw that J. Lo feel too but she recovered well and kept it moving!!

What can I say about those perfomances?…… They were all one of a kind. But my favs were Black Eyed Peas and Jay with Alicia. Rhi Rhi was cool but the vocals weren’t that great. Whitney I STILL love!!!! All the other performances made me feel out the loop cause I barely heard any of those songs before. Oh well, I was entertained for the most part.

was anyone else disturbed my adam lambert’s performance? am i the only one? the guys head pulled towards his crotch, pulling on that woman’s crotch-meanwhile if Madonna does it, i would be just as disturbed so its NOT a sexist statement : )

Whitney- love her but why was she rushin thru it? slow down and maybe the vocals will sound better.
Shakira- love her but waaay too many people. and she wasnt even singing!!!
Rihanna-are those tats on her neck real?!? ouch…loved her performance tho
Alicia-didnt even watch cuz i dont like the song. -_-
Mary-she was into it and i was too. never heard the song before now but imma get it.
J.Lo-i saw the fall BUT it was on beat with the music. and she recovered HELLA quick. thats that dance training. she still worked it out.
Lady Gaga- shes crazy in the most fabulous way. thats all.
Jay-Z-not a fan. didnt watch
Timbaland-tried 2 watch. had 2 stop. like him but not live. just give me the cd. and whats goin on wit him and Nelly Furtado? Are they a couple? i thought he was married?
BEP-i really shuda watched them before Gaga. cuz Fergie is just screamin and they tryna be futuristic when she is in the next millenium on Planet WTF
Kelly-finally an actual vocal performance of a med-tempo song! my fav Idol (well her and fantasia)

Alicia shouldn’t dance. GaGa rocked. Janet always rocks. BEP, the idea was dope. But Ferg missed soundcheck. Timbaland, why? Mary is classic. Jay-Z gave the same performance as on the MTV Awards, minue awkward Lil’ Mama moment. Rihanna, just stop it. J. Lo, umm nah.
I didn’t really like the format of the awards (3 nominees and rushing through those). I hope it is better next year.
