November 13, 2009 New Video: Rihanna – Russian Roulette
Merely hours ahead of it’s scheduled release, Rihanna’s long awaited video for “Russian Roulette” made its way to the internet. This dramatic clip does a great job of capturing the essence of the song. I was literally on edge waiting to see what was going to happen. While not as visually engaging as Lady Gaga’s newest video, Rihanna certainly wins the award for Best Drama. Not to mention, both she and her leading man (Jesse Williams) look amazing!

I don’t get it. I thought there would be more explanation to the song with the video. I’m suprised this is going to be played and it’s not banned. Videos have been banned for less. Why not now?

for the most part i like this video…i feel like it did a great job encompassing the song
the only part i didn’t like was the scene with the gas chamber…why are there random cuts scenes with tigers? that really freaked me out!

Very dramatic. Its one of those videos where you’re left in awe. I found it to be VERY well done, her best video to date. I felt each and every emotion. And to top it off, its visually stunning.

I’m like BLAH on this video.To me she is really just using all that hype from her and Chris to push this album. I am not supporting domestic violence by a long shot. My mother was a victim for 13 yrs, however, it is mighty funny to me shee waits all the way until now to start talking about it in detail trying to “save lives”. Chris has spent this long begging and pleading and going through and she uses it to push her album, which so far SUCKS! I think RiRi thinks she is deeper than what she is. If she is not careful with this “I’m a true artist” crap, she is going to end up like CIARA. She needs to get some more up beat/clever songs. She is a face not a brian.

Prada there is no references to Chris Brown in that video at all. I think this video goes way beyond that incident.

she needs to go into acting, because she can’t sing. LADY GAGA is a hot mess, while the gay and white community love her. The rest of the world see her as a weird ugly b_itch who uses gimmicks to stay in the spotlight.

Love love LOVE the video…. I was able to see the video before it was pulled and all i can say is WOW!!!! I too was sitting on the edge of my seat like I was watching some block bluster movie and the most pivatol part was about to happen.
I literally screamed out loud when the chamber on the gun was spun thus beginning the actual game of russian roulette. I think my favorite scenes of the video is when she is in the gas chamber and damn near daring them to release the gases on her.
The entire video was a metaphor and showed the various test she was put through and yet she survived them all. I think I screamed again at the end of the video when the shot rang out and Rihanna was the one who won the game.

Amazing video. Yes its dark, so what? its artistic. Michael Jackson did the dark thing in some of his video.
I like the song and the video -its completely metaphorical and if you don’t get that, you are a no brainer.
Anybody who justify or try to make excuse for a man hitting a woman ought to be beaten to dealth. It’s so easy for you guys to say she provoked him, so what? we girls are furious when we think our boy friend is cheating not to say the evidence was right there under her breath.
Chrish might be able to clean his image as time passes but Rihanna will never be able to heal………….you never heal, she may look good and dress good -all that is to distract what she truly feels inside. The Inner scar will never heal, its a huge knock on confidence. I will say she still cry herself to bed at night and she will continue to do so.
Its ignorant when people say she does not look like the victim with the way she acts, the least thing those that are abused want to show is vulnerability or for someone to pity them, they are embarrassed about it and will tend to do what ever it takes to hide what they truly feel inside. Even more so for Rihanna because she’s in the public eye, a superstar with a successful career.
Someone said in one of the above comments that her mother was abused for several years, and she think Rihanna is using this whole thing to push her album. I would think you and your spoon brain would not try to make excuse for a man hitting a woman especially that your mother was abused? I am sure you did not learn from your mother, you are lucky your mother is still alive (and Rihanna is lucky she’s still alive). Of course we are fans expect her to say something, am not going to buy her album if I don’t know her stand on domestic violence being that she was abused. So yes now is the time to talk about it.
Rihanna if you ever read this, I admire your strength and I hope you find the strength and zeal to carry on with your live and thank you for taking a stand against domestic violence.
I hope Chris learn and become a better person.
