November 7, 2009 New Music: Robin Thicke – Shakin’ It For Daddy & Meiplé (Me I Play)
It looks as though Robin Thicke is ditching his usual soul sound for more of a commercial hip-hop sound with this next album. “Shakin’ It For Daddy” (featuring Nicki Minaj) is set to be the second single from his upcoming Sex Therapy album. “Meiplé (Me I Play)” is another cut off the album that premiered on NYC’s Hot 97 radio station yesterday. Sex Therapy is set for release on December 15th.
Love muffins, are you feeling Robin Thicke’s new sound?

Wow. From the first 30 seconds I was a little floored by that first cut. Hee-Hee! Robin Thicke is gettin’ a lil jiggy huh! lol. Thanks B for this one. I really like Robin Thicke. I say, hey, not my type music, “I be runnin’ s**t…” is a lil like whoa. But he is grown. LOL. If someone played this one and didn’t tell me, I would not know it was him.

I like both songs. I like to see an artist step out of their box a little bit. I’m not really into Nicki Minaj, but the song is good. I love Meiple!!

I love Robin Thicke, wasn’t sure what to think B4 I heard the clips by the negative posts on here, but I must admit even though they are not typical of his previous work, I actually like what I heard! I just hope theres a slow jams on here, but I’m still gonna cop this CD.

I love both songs, but I love Robin. He is not leaving his “zone” he is expanding it. He did an interview and said he just wanted to do an “ode” to hip hop his favorite music. But he has a soul tribute in the works and there is also songs that target his fan base and will be good for everyone. And heck let’s be honest, the man deserves a little fun. Everyone always asks how he got and keeps Paula Patton, well grown men listen “a lady don’t lift things, open doors, stand alone, not when she with me babe..” Same lyrical basis as his Lost Without You, just a different track. LISTEN to the lyrics and you will see it is our same ole man, doing the same lyrical content but just showing his fun side. Let the baby have fun

I LOVE Robin Thicke like nobody’s business. Meiple is adorable- I’m ready to go to France right now! Sound’s like he’s having fun- so I personally couldn’t care less whether it’s too “mainstream” or whatever these negative fools are calling it. The man is a genious, and genuinly talented, as is evident in his last three albums. I can’t wait to hear what other surprises are on his fourth!
