October 16, 2009 New Music: JoJo – Impossible To Love
Seems like things are really coming together for JoJo. She announced earlier this week that her label has reached a distribution deal with Interscope to distribute her new album, All I Want Is Everything! This is great news coming from an artist with such great material. The latest track to leak was produced by Harvey Mason & Oak and it’s a nice mid-tempo jam. JoJo’s vocals are near flawless as usual and she glides effortlessly over the production, even with the synthesized harmonies. The track kind of reminds me a bit of the song “25 to Life,” which she previously recorded. Now that we have all these promising tracks, all we need is a release date for the album. Come on JoJo!
Get into the track below & let me know what you think!

I love some of Jojo’s songs like “A Little Too Late”, but this track is alright. and umm yeah, I don’t know what it is about all those singers attempting to sing like Brandy now, down to her harmony patterns. I know Bran is very talented as a vocalist and I dig her style, but I would hate for ALL R&B singers to adopt that single way of singing.

This track is nice! The vocals in the beginning remind me of Brandy. But that’s okay. I love both Brandy and Jojo.

I love this cut. Sounds like a Brandy Track.
She doesn’t need that auto tuning, her voice is already nice.

Yes, this is a bit Brandy-esque!
But it’s nice to listen to…I would like to see her do something with a little razor edge to it…shake things up…!

All I can say is Brandy is gonna sit around and whoop her A$$ for stealing her vocal swagger! I am loving it though. I am glad you kept me from making a fool outta myself. I would have argued until Pride that that was actually Miss Norwood!
Talk soon, and LOVE YA!

She had my attention until the autotuned runs. That’s what ruined Goapele’s “Milk & Honey” for me. Why do fantastic singers feel the need? Ugh, so disappointing. Save that autotune for the Rihannas and Cassies of the industry, thanks.

Brandy is the SHITTT so of course everyone(R&B, Gospel, Pop) wants to model their tracks after her.

Sounds like it was MADE for Brandy…or she did the demo or something. A little too reminiscent for me…makes me wish it was Brandy singing it instead. Either way…I love JoJo and I hope she does well this time around
