October 6, 2009 Mariah Album News + H.A.T.E.U. For 3rd Single
Mariah’s Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel debuted at the #3 position this week according to Hits Daily Double. You lambs may have noticed the lack of features, or guest appearances on the album. Tricky Stewart has revealed that Mimi is releasing a remix album!

Details are slowly emerging about the project, which will include remixes to every song on Memoirs. “There’s gonna be remixes to everything,” says Tricky. “I’m actually doing some remixing myself currently ’cause some of these records were so much fun to make. It’s easy to go in and do a remix.”
The mega-producer already has something in mind for the diva’s Foreigner cover. “I’m gonna do a remix to ‘I Want to Know What Love Is’ myself. I’mma raise the tempo up. I’mma try to make it into something else.”
He may even add a guest to it. “Once I get the beat and if it calls for the right person, I can get anybody on the phone I want to right now, so I will be using my Rolodex for that.”
One of the featured artists on the new project will be Trey Songz, who exclusively discloses to Rap-Up.com that he recorded a remix to one of Memoirs’ cuts last month. “Mariah Carey, I believe she’s doing a remix album and I’m on a record entitled ‘Inseparable,’” he shares.
Trey put everything aside once he got the call. “I actually only had a day to do it. I did it on my day off. [They were] very professional, very adamant on wanting to get it done. They made sure we had all we needed. I just went in and got it done.”

In other Mariah news, she recently performed at P.C. Richard & Son Theater in Tribeca, New York. She rocked the stage performing “Obsessed,” “Always Be My Baby,” “H.A.T.E.U.,” “I Want To Know What Love Is,” and “We Belong Together.” The show was recorded and will eventually be put up on iheartradio.com. At the show, Mimi confirmed that the “H.A.T.E.U.” will indeed be the third single lifted from MOIA! Check out a few pictures from the show below!

I didn’t feel MOAIA “lacked” features, I felt it was very refreshing – a true memoir piece that flashes back to her 1990-1995 album days. Now, I am ecstatic about the remixes album because I love my Mariah/JD collabos and I liked Skydiving, so it would be nice to hear a clear version of the Timbaland cut. I heard Trey Songz is on the remixes version of Inseperable, so I can dig it. I just hope they wait enough of a while to give MOAIA some legs. As far as debuting at #3, that’s not bad. Only 6 of her albums debuted at #1 and she’s had 12 studio albums, so hey! What’ll be interesting to me is to see how the charts look next week. If, like TEOM, this album really has legs, it will stay up there.

OH yea..just the news I wanted to hear..im just slightly disturbed that the album only made it to number three for the first week..the numbers are really down compared to her usual sales..im astounded because this album is really good!

I agree with Lee… i was kinda thinking this album would be #1 for the first week. Because the music on here is really the best out right now.. but anyway I’ll take it. I’m so excited that HATEU is the next single! I hope she releases a few singles off this album..because honestly..more than half of the album is single-worthy! H.A.T.E.U. is a good choice.. very great lyrics, and the sound is amazing. I think people will have to go get her album after this next single release! Go Mariah!

The album as a whole deserved to be #1! Not really all that interested in “I Want To Know What Love Is” Remixes…. but I do look forward to a album full of remixes of the album!

Yes! I love H.A.T.E.U. can’t wait to see the clip. Reminds me of her earlier ballads which are very emotional and touch you deeply.

you know B, maybe you should make a Mariah tribute website, it’s all Mariah over here, there other artist too you know;)
But i one of the people who was not feeling the album, and i think a debut at three is not that bad. I really don’t need a remix album, if i want remixes i will buy the single. And most remix albums sell bad…!

you know its a bad sign when they are already trying to release a remix cd. I think MiMi needs to chill for a minute, take a break and let the fans miss her, then come back with something fresh and hot because this cd is not it

WHITNEY won by a landslide! With no music videos or radio hits.she sold 311K units and was # 1…OH……and she still sold 50K plus in her 5th week on the charts!

she debuted at #3!!!, That’s so sad I feel so bad 4 MiMi! It looks like her career is slowly going 2 an end!..I thought the album coulda been better 2, it seemed 2 me like she did a rush job on the whole album! I want the mariah Back who made real music, This crap is Crap and the sales and billboard charts proved it, Hopefully she can regain some strength with her new single “H.A.T.E. U….

Let B.be B. It’s his blog goddammit. And we all know he loves Mariah, so dont act all stank and surprised that he’s giving his girl some light, now that she actually has something to be on the cover for.
This album is great, but IWKWLI shouldnt have been the second single, and thats why the first week sales are so “low”.
With music as strong if not stronger than the songs on Em. of Mimi, she shouldve released one her original powerhouse ballads than a cover.
A cover of this classic will not make people check for you, cuz they already know the song, and already assume how its gonna sound wit you on it.
H.A.T.E.U. is a great choice, I also see More Than Just Friends and maybe Angels Cry as potential singles.
Candy Bling a ffavorite of mine, but not single material.

The single has nothing do with slow sales, Whitney’s albumdebuted at one with no hit single. Mariah Heavely promoted Obsessed and that didn’t help the album. But debut at three is nothing so be a shamed of. The only thing that worries me is that this is already the third single (no big hits) and the album is out for a weak and they already want to release a remix album. Like someone said: she needs to take break, let people miss her and then come back and kick ass

I partley agree with you.
She has had albums out back 2 back since Em. of Mimi so no there is no gap in the mediaattention. Thats why exciting singles could somehow help her get more attention.
Whitney going nr. 1 is all a part of the media and the public “forgiving” her and cleanisng for her past’s faults.
Welcoming back the prodigal son pretty much.
