September 21, 2009 Jam It? Or Slam It? Joss Stone – Free Me
It seems as though Joss Stone has gotten her label situation worked out as she just dropped a brand new single entitled “Free Me.” I actually really like this record, but I can’t seem to give it the amount of play it needs because the only think coming out of my speakers right now is Memoirs…. In any case, I think Joss is going to have success with this record because its vintage throwback feel is certainly unmatched right now considering what all is being played on the radio.
Love muffins, what do you think? Jam it? Or slam it?

she did a duet with raphael saadiq on his album, which has a totally 60’s concept. i think she probably stole the idea for a retro sound from him.

@m
Joss has been doing the retro sound thing for years so I seriously doubt she stole anything from Raphael.

It’s the Jennifer Hudson/Holiday syndrome. What to do with such a big voice?
Love Joss Stone but they have not really figured out what to do with her. Can’t wait until she has material to support her great voice. Wrong direction to reach back to the 60’s sound. If anything try an Areatha cover.

i LOVE her her voice is so powerful. and might i add she brought the retro sounding soul voice back out YEARS ago. i love her and this song but she needs a writer to write her a song to show off them vocals and that soulfoul voice.

Yes!!! Joss has done it again. This woman is one of the few artists that continue to make real, soulful, love-inspired music for us to rock to…and for that…much love to the london song-bird. I’m feeling me some Joss Stone, from the liberating lyrics to the sexy rasp in her voice. Give me more!!!
