Omg B! Can you believe that next week I will be playing this album non-stop! I truly think this is going to be hands down one of my favorite Mariah albums of all time! Also, my man is tripping right about now so in the event that we break up I’m sure this will have alot for me to reflect on. LOL. Thanks B!

I love the opening track and all the others after! I wonder who inspired the “drumline” for track 10. Up Out My Face (Reprise)? Even though I already have a full digital copy, I’m definately going go support my wifey and get this Next Tuesday(9/29)…Nick is a dork, lol!

THIS SOUNDS EXCITING!!!!! I’m loving her vocals on this album! I’m glad she didn’t do much of her usual “whispering” vocals on this album. I feel that’s what made “Charmbracelet” weak. Too much whispering and not enough singing. Can’t wait to hear this in its entirety.

purework of art mariah has truly let it be know why she is the biggest selling female artist in the history of recorded music, and why she is the THE VOICE SORRY WHITNEY STANS IT REALITY DEALWITH IT. This album is way more superior than emc2 and i truly feel it was just something for the fans to chew on till she served her main course and she has served it !!!!

I love Mariah. Janet, Mariah and Brandy are three singers who’s albums I still anticipate and will buy regardless. I’ve been looking for Mariah because ive been a fan since BUTTERFLY which is when a lot of people fell off of Mariah. I’ve loved every Mariah album since. Including GLITTER which was a bad movie but a GREAT album. “Never too far” is what a true ballad should be. Most dont remember that that albumc ame out the week of September 11th. Nobody was out buying records and they stull tossed her aside as a flop. anyway, I digress. I cant wait to sink into this album. Mariah is deep and has some very clever lyrics yet shes still gritty. Love her. All the Veterans still showing they still got it. More important, “it” never left them.

It’s good. I like it, but EVERYONE knows Oprah nicknamed Whitney “The Voice” YEARS ago. Sorry lamb. Whitney is and always has been a better vocalist and performer than Mariah. I Look To You will SWEEP the grammy’s. Memoirs is good, but Mariah tries too hard to stay relevant by confirming to whatever is on radio.

As much as I love Mariah, I think the album is just o.k. After all the promos, pics, and hype of this Classic Mariah album I was anticipanting, I feel a little disappointed. It sounds like the Dreams and Tricky’s album and not Mariah’s. There are a couple of cuts I like on the album but it is targeted more to a younger audience. 13-25 demographic. I miss real music and lyric and this album just doesn’t give me what I need from Mariah. On a scale of 10, I rate it a 7. Please don’t think I am hating, because I own every M.C. album. Even though E=MC2 was lackluster, she still tried to be creative. This album, well alot of the songs song alike, too me personally. And is it me or does “Hate U” almost sound like “Bliss”? I wanted Classic Mariah and I got Mariah at 40, still trying to sound 20. I hope you all think it, but it’s just o.k. to me! Pleae don’t attack me! LOL!

im not feeling this album as a whole.. I mean speaking from someone who was a big mariah fan when she was a respected vocalist.. this album is NOT up to par.. What’s with all the beats in all her songs, and she’s trying to sound ghetto now???? Beyonce managed to put together a more mature& sophisticated album than Mariah, even Rhianna.. There are some tracks that stand out, but this album sounds like THE Dreams album, but with Mariah’s voice on it.. deg mc, but i see the youngins like it, and i guess that was the point..

I have to agree with NaPaul on this one. On a creative level and musically she has not grown not one bit. She’s stalled with this CD and not going in any direction (i.m.o.). I was expecting a lot more not the same old stuff. I can go back and listen to any of her prior CDs to get the same sound. I wish her well though. sigh

Someone said that it was going to be alot of mid tempo ballads. I don’t know how I feel about it. But I do agree with someone who said that I’ll purchase Mariah and Janet (can’t say same for Brandy becuase didn’t buy last cd) no matter what. even though I can only remember listening to Mariah’s E=MC2 mess about 3 times before retiring it.
I don’t about anyone else but after I hear clips like these (esp w/ Mariah) I always go back & listen to albums such as Butterfly, Daydream and even Rainbow.

Up out my face is the jam… but I will say that despite how “bright” the cover art is, its a pretty dark CD… The lyrics are dark, about revenge and kissing off dudes… and she never really “belts” out any of the songs… theyre all either whispery or sung in her lower register. I kept waiting for her to hit some highs. I like the dream, but not to produce an entire mariah cd.
I do miss the mariah of old who’s lyrics soared. She is very much doing the “ghetto” thing these days. Up Out My Face? Betcha Gon? Its A Wrap? This is the chick that brought us Vision Of Love? Vanishing? All Alone In Love?

I haven’t bought an CD in a couple of years this one I will be buying first day. I might even get two. All the those songs sound absolutely amazing. I love MC. The feel reminds me of Butterfly. I can’t believe she’s done it again giving me what we need. An entire album you can listen to from beginning to end and play it over and over again. I can’t wait I’m too excited right now. lol. why do people feel the need to preface their “negative” comments with “but i’m a Mariah fan though”. baby, if you ain’t feeling it…..you ain’t feeling it. no need to explain how much you USED to love her. that’s the part that makes you sound a tad ‘fake’. you grown….u don’t need to explain urself.
as for Mimi…….she’s earned my money this go round. album’s been on repeat from the moment it hit my computer.
for those that haven’t heard it…….it’s a mellow kind of album. if you have no depth, you will go to sleep. those with substance….can just kick back….and enjoy. take that however you want to.
and seriously….when was the last time anyone bought an album b/c it had “deep” lyrics on every verse of every song? this album lyrically is miles ahead of anything she’s done lately. if you listened to what she was saying and not how she sounded……you’d realize that. what the fuck is Mariah gonna sound like singing the fuckin Constitution in a day & age when bitches abbreviate the simplest of words? c’mon man……bring your ass into the here & now. and if you like that Mariah so much….go listen to those CDs.

First track is the best. The rest sounds like the same song pratically. Were these songs leftovers from Rainbow and Charmbracelet? Anyone thinks Languishing sounds a bit familiar to Petals? Does Mariah vocals sound the same throughout? Where is I Stay In Love type ballad, which is my all time Mariah’s favorite. Anyhow , i’m gonna add it to my collection anyhow. I’m just not excited at all about this one. Just like Mary J. Blige, once these babes gotten married, their music suffers and Mariah’s case here voice.
