September 14, 2009 MTV VMA (2009): Performances
The performances from last night’s Video Music Awards were pretty entertaining, but some for all the wrong reasons. While certain performances, like Beyoncé’s and Pink’s left me dazzled, others just straight up left me confused (Jay-Z, Alicia Keys and…Lil Mama?). I LOVED Gaga’s…went to sleep after Beyonce’s so I can’t speak on Jay and Pink and I don’t care enough to watch them right now!

Lil’ Mama’s presence on stage was baffling and awkward. It wasn’t one of those surprises people cheered for. They kinda just wondered what purpose she served…..Regardless to how bizarra she might be, Lady Gaga’s talent cannot be denied. And when she said her award was for “God and the gays”, I had to smile a little……P!nk is amazing…..Janet is always stunning…….Jay and Alicia did a great job……Kanye. Well, that is all I will say about that.
All in all, the show is improving. I look for it to be truly explosive again soon. B. Scott, keep it hot. You are always on top of the updates.

Lil Mama just hopped up there. She was not supposed to be part of the performance. Jay and Alicia just kept their cool and rolled with it. You would think they would’ve upped stage security after the Kanye outburst.

OMFG.
I love Pink so much. I really don;t think that she has the exposure that she deserves. I’m not a Lady Gaga fan but her performance was entertaining, I enjoyed it. It was different. Have yet to watch Beyonce;s performance cause I can;t stomachthat song anymore. And what was up wit Lil Mama?

that’s a shame @ Lil Mama poppin up there at the end of a FANTASTIC performance…kinda played herself with that move.
iThink i just fell back in love with Beyonce.
Lady Gaga is today’s Madonna [which is a GOOD thing]…but that blood kinda creeped me out…lol
while it was cool for Pink to deliver such a “risky” performance, it wasn’t that moving…but i do like the song.

Yaaas. Loved Lady Gaga, Pink and Beyonce. I’m not a huge fan of Jay Z, but I did hear Lil Mama was NOT supposed to be a part of that performance – and that she just jumped her lil a s s up there.

I was only going to watch Janet’s performance…Madonna really put some thought into her tribute to MJ..and Janet..There is nothing I can say I was in tears. She put her heart out there and Michael was definately smiling…
Beyonce was cool..her class at the end allowing Taylor to finish her speech was A-1.
Pink’s performance was great..I have always loved her and I loved the performance..
Jay-Z & Alicia keys tore it up…Lil Mama..well is all I can say she had some real f’d up publicity after that ABDC fiasco,,so I guess she was trying to redeem herself or maybe she was drinking what Kanye was drinking.

I know Pink HAD to be lip-syncing, but her performance was touching and beautiful! Lady Gaga is beyond amazingly talented, despite her idiosyncrasies. Beyoncé’s gyrating on stage doesn’t impress me, but I guess it’s working for her. Lil’ Mama looked like a lost puppy on stage, what was she thinking? The best part of that performance was Alicia Keys, Jay Z was boring to me.

B i absolutely adore you for this ( i was desperately seeking VIDS!!!) And I’ll tell you one thing:
Even though people are kind of yawning at beyonce’s performance, one has to consider that in the country i am in, award shows fall short of any performance meter, i loved it.
Gaga is growing on me, that lil wench. She CAN do her thing, i concede dammit.

And watching alicia keys just blow her horn like that still sends shivers of delight down this spine o mine.

I thought all the performances were great. Pink and Beyonce were my favorites, but also enjoyed Madonna’s and Janet’s. Loved Lady Gaga’s , not a big fan but that performance was different and unique. Changed my views about Lady Gaga. Kanye West on the other hand lost alot of respect by most last night. Taylor Swift you deserved that honor and don’t let no one tell ya other wise.

boy oh boy! what a night of drama..lol haha. lil mama was a lil foolish..but its alright.. she is from bk..but she did look corny up there with jay and alicia. Beyonce’s performance was soooo good! and lady gaga disturbed me with her costumes..but her performance was entertaining..she is very artistic.

ILOVEED Lady Gaga’s performance!!! I watched it evrytime they showed a re-run of the VMA’s!!! I just love her eccentricity!!!!
