September 6, 2009 San Diego Chargers’ Shawn Merriman Arrested For Choking Tila Tequila
Jesus take the wheel, Shawn Merriman of the San Diego Chargers was arrested by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department after an alleged altercation with his girlfriend Tila Tequila.
San Diego Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call this morning at 3:45 AM. Tila claims she was “choked and physically restrained” by Merriman after she tried to leave his residence. Merriman is accused of battery and false imprisonment. Tila was transported to a local hospital while Merriman was taken into custody. TMZ
Earlier that day Tila tweeted to Shawne: “RT @shawnemerriman I’m on my way to the sports fan in mission valley be there from 2pm to 3:30 see you there.”
Just hours before the alleged incident the couple were spotted at Stingaree nightclub in San Diego at around 1:00 AM. They were in a roped off area and Tila was seen giving Shawne lap dances all night long.
