September 2, 2009 Jam It? Or Slam It? Dirty Money – Love Come Down & Angels
After months of anticipation and much hype from Diddy, we finally get to hear some music from his new project. Last Train to Paris will be released at the top of 2010, and features vocals from his new group, Dirty Money. DM consists of himself, Dawn Richard, and newcomer Kaleena. “Love Come Down” is a hard-hitting club banger which finds Kaleena and Dawn taking the majority of the vocals. “Angels” is a nice mid-tempo that features the late Notorious B.I.G. I never thought I would say this, but Diddy singing (although auto-tune enhanced) doesn’t sound that bad. Now I’m even more curious as to what the rest of the album sounds like.
Do we jam it? Or slam it?

In all honesty seeing Dawn without DK leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. The girl can sing but in my opinion she was best with DK. Obviously Diddy’s rapping is average but Dirty money might be hot as long as they keep it up.
“Angels” has a beat that I feel like I’ve heard before (of course not in mainstream music but somewhere else) Everybody keeps call the beat to this song different but it’s really not. That being said biggie makes it hot, without him it ain’t really all that. It would be a hot song to add to a movie during one of the “real” or “intense” parts.
In my opinion, “Love Come Down” is not a hard hitting club banger. It seems pretty lite actually. The beat is most definitely different but I’m not sure about it. The “Show em how to move in a club full of vultures” is the best part of the song. If the delivery and lyrics had that same energy, I could probably get into it.
All in all I wouldn’t same Slam em’, but I wouldn’t say jam em’ either. The songs are okay but I’m hoping for better.

Have you noticed that all the groups Diddy brings out are one hit wonders or they don’t even make it big. Take for ex: Jay Z brought out Kanye, Rihanna, ect…Diddy who? If it weren’t for biggie he would have what he has…

I thought that was Brandy in the squat pose for a minute. Hate both, back to the drawing board. DEATH TO AUTOTUNE!! Someone needs to come hard for me to be impressed. Get back to the real skill of creating music with an artist’s actual voice.
