In a culture where many black men typically succumb to the hyper-masculine roles assigned to them at birth, you wouldn’t expect many to be not-so-closeted fans of a gay man who concludes his commentary with the phrase, “double kisses.”
Yet gender-bending Internet personality B. Scott, with his lengthy eyelashes, high cheekbones and long hair (usually his own, sometimes not), is amassing fans in unlikely places: straight black men.

I thought it was a well written article, but reading the comments were disturbing. There’s a lane for every1 so why is it that everyone is so up in arms about the lane B. Scott is in?? don’t like it draw ya own damn lane an ride in it solo hmmpf!

Wow, what an enlightening article, and food for thought. B. Scott you got all it takes to make it to the top and NOBODY can copy your swagger! There are going to be people who hate on you, but there are always going to be people who appreciate you.

I agree with “Carmool”…reading the comments were disturbing but the article was well written. In my opinion Im a little confused if the article was trying to praise u for the WONDERFUL person you are or put you down for who and how you are. Maybe I need to read it again!

I think he acts masculine. He does feminine things but like he said ” his soul is male” and it shows. If he had a Female Soul,, I would be turned off… Everything he says would be Passive aggressive , Like some of the NICE NASTY comments left by some of the females on this blog… MRS. Thang, CARMOOL there is not such thing as a LANE..B scott doesn’t have a lane. PEOPLE CHOOSE which LANE THEY are GONNA DRIVE IN and being GAY in NOT a choice…What your really implying is that B Scott chose his lifestyle.. ………..UNDERCOVER HATER…………. NEXT… All men are half woman XY….. but no woman is half man……XX……..He converses like a man– very direct and to the point.. This is why straight men like him. They admire him for being pretty, not that they want to sleep with him. We have had famous pretty black male celebrities all through out popular culture. Little Richard, Prince, Michael jackson, Muhammed Ali, ……..This is nothing new to straight black men… B. Scott is the NOT the First. IT’s the FEMALES that feel threatened by B Scott not the Males…. OH and IF you got to ask yourself if your man cares about you…. HE DOESN’T!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad to be gay .. God knew just what he was doing with me…… Women have low self-esteem, and try to be so sneaky with the shit they say.. So Afraid B. Scott gonna steal all the MEN… It’s ingrained in females that they are supposed to get all the attention. By females, i mean female SOULS.. BOBBY BROWN has a female soul.. Whitney houston has a MALE SOUL in their relationship Who was the breadwinner? Who acted like a bitch all the time……. BOBBY!!!!! GOD MADE MAN and WOMAN for each other. SO no MAtter whats between your LEGs.. YOU can Only Attract your opposite soul.. Two males souls are not gonna get down.. nor two Female souls.. Notice in gay relationships there is always one thats Fem and one Masculine.

Article read more like a friend writing a PR statement for another friend. I think Michael did a huge disservice to the African American community by not expanding on the issue of hyper-masculinity in our community and why it’s there. Making such a bold statement deserves to be expounded upon. B. Scott in the years that this blog has evolved has become more hypo-masculine in nature. Look at some of the older videos. His style has totally changed since the inception of this blog and obviously he’s reinventing himself to become the celebrity he wants to be. At the end of the day B. Scott wants to be famous and these antics will take him there.
