August 16, 2009 Album Preview: Queen Latifah – Persona
Amazon just posted 30 second snippets of Queen Latifah’s entire album, Persona. It sounds pretty decent from what I can tell. A nice blend of hip-hop & R&B, the only thing is that I wish she would have left the auto-tune alone. Once or twice is acceptable, but it sounds like she uses it on every single song. We all know she can sing, but I guess she got caught up in the trend. As usual, I’ll reserve my full judgements for when I can hear the album in it’s entirety. Persona drops on August 25th! Also, in case you haven’t heard, “Fast Car” ft. Missy Elliot is the rumored second single from the project. I’ve included it below for your listening pleasure!

I love her and as I went through the playlist on Amazon I will defintely buy this album – just love the new stuff !!!

I heard the full songs..and hopefully it grows on me because I’m not really impressed. I’m going to listen a few more times. She used Cool and Dre on 90% of the album…not sure if that’s a good thing or not.

Wow. This is the best that I’ve heard from her so far, and that’s not saying much. Don’t get me wrong, I adore the Queen, just not singing. I love her in movies and I lovedddd her rapping. This…not so much. This track gets half a thumb.
