July 28, 2009 BET ‘Rising Icons’ Presents Keri Hilson
On Monday, singer Keri Hilson was featured as the BET ‘Rising Icon’ which is a new special on BET focusing on the rising new artists in Black music. Keri was honored in New York City and celebrated with celebs such as The Dream, Christina Milian, Debra Lee, Idris Elba, Ryan Leslie and more. Last night’s premiere episode of ‘Rising Icons’ featured soul/jazz singer Chrisette Michelle with next week premiering the Keri Hilson episode. Check out the pictures after the jump.

Keri Hilson… A Rising Icon? Hmm.. I’m not sure how I feel about that. I truly think some of the celebs that HONORED her should have been considered a Rising Icon.. eg (RYAN LESLIE, CHRISETTE MICHELLE)!

I agree with the comments above. I am so over Keri Hilson. She may be able to write but she CAN’T sing and she will do anything to get attention, like; come at Bey, then say it wasn’t about Bey, then say she knows what it seems like but she’s not apologizing, and blah blah blah. She is full of herself. At best, she’s cute. Someone give her a modeling contract and let the real artists get “rising icon” recognition. Shout to Chrisette Michele. That new album is THE BEST R&B album from a female this year.

Chrisette Michele is more of a rising icon than Keri. Keri’s music has no substance and her performances are sub par and she’s been behind the scenes long enough to know how to deliver, but that’s just my opinion. Plus it aggravates me when people say she’s a “songwriter”, does it matter when you can’t even write yourself a big hit?

keri cant sing. i have seen her live. it suked. and at the bet awards she sucked. she cant sing. she can write and dance a little bit. beyonce is amazing and is prettier than her. keri hilson need 2 go away
