July 6, 2009 New Music Review!
Ne-Yo – Don’t Worry About It: With a new track from Ne-Yo leaking almost every day, it’s almost impossible to keep up. While most of them are pretty average R&B tracks, every so often one stands out and deserves to be posted. This uptempo track finds Ne-Yo singing about spending the night on the dance-floor. We know Ne-Yo isn’t the most polished dancer, but that’s okay! It’s just nice to hear Ne-Yo on something uptempo for once.

Keshia Chante – Take That Sh*t Off: For those of you who don’t know, Keshia Chante is known as the Canadian “Princess of Pop” for her eight #1 radio hits and two chart-topping albums. This is supposedly a demo for the Paradiso Girls, but there are reports that she may keep the track for herself. I’ve never heard Keshia do a dance record before, but I will say that I like it. If she keeps this for herself, it’s safe to say that she’s going after a darker, raunchier, sound than in her previous efforts.

Tiffany Evans – Spotlight: Miss Evans has an undeniable voice. With her last album, we were able to hear her showcase her vocals on almost every track…so it’s only natural that she experiments with different sounds and has a little bit of fun on this next album. This dance-friendly record follows in line with a lot of the other dance-pop records that are flooding the airwaves right now. It’s nice, but I think she should stick to using her god-given talent and leave this type of music to the artists that don’t have as much, if not any talent.

Livvi Franc – Trick or Treat: With Rihanna’s music career taking a backseat to her recent public drama, it seems like another Barbadian beauty is trying to establish herself. Livvi Franc is slowly gaining popularity here in the US as her music is all over the internet. If you like her other song, “Now I’m That B*tch“, then more than likely you will enjoy this one as well. It has the same overall concept and attitude as the previous song. I find it a bit generic and it seems like she’s trying way too hard to be “edgy”.

tiffany evans’s voice on that track sounds like rhianna.. thats not a good thing considering the great voice tiffany has.. she should rethink it.. you can have a hot dance pop song and still sing your ass off.. i guess people forget many of the classic 90’s dance songs were mostly sung by women with big voices.. (ex. Show me love- robin s., This is your night Amber, etc.

I really liked Ne-Yo’s song, I love his slow tracks but I really like his uptempo stuff too. Keshia’s was a hot song. I could see myself dancing to that in a club, didn’t care for Tiffany Evans song or Livvi Franc.

Ok so umm Ne-Yo disappoints yet again.. wuts up wit all his songs sounding the same lately? i guess that’s why majority of them don’t make the albums he puts out… a song ya gotta put on here if you haven’t already is Lonely by Ne-Yo…. that’s a good one.
I absolutely love Keshia Chante…. she’s the shit… nuff said
Tiffany Evans did sound a lil like Rihanna in some of it but you can tell the difference and I like it…
