Im sorry that was not a tribute show to Michael at all. I was disappointed with the performances It was honestly Jaime Foxx and Ne-yo the whole time while there were other celebrities that could have done a better job!
The whole time I felt that The O’jays had a better tribute and the fact that Don Cornelius took like a hour to give his speech about the o’jays. But I have to say Keyshia and Monica did a good job Jay’z did a good job keri hilson was decent but ma issue is also wtf was lil wayne and drake thinkin when they had like 4 lil girls on stage while they was rapping about beatin that pussy good wtf! and also ciara should have danced, omarion should have been there, ginuwine shoulda performed and usher wat happened BET. Oh Drake should have performed on the pre show not main show!

So i was at the awards last night as well B. scott look outstanding, but why did Monica come out to LA and kill this show like she did. i would have loved her to do something for Michael jackson alone. Beyonce was good but Monica was breathe taking. That girl can sing like no other

im am so FURiOUS that they did not let Chris Brown perform. we all know he would have killed the Michael Jackson tribute !!! people need to seriously get over that rihanna thing… like seriously out of everyone he would of fit the job perfectly…
but other than that i think the awards show was a little whack !!
the best moment was Janet Jackson. she is truly a good women and a strong women for speaking on behalf of her family…

I think BET did a phenomenal job. Jamie Foxx and Neyo killed it. (Sigh) Now lemme get this out the way…B, I’m sorry I know you luv Bey Bey but the DIVA thang don’ ran it’s course. Ave Maria? What? Why not do a Michael song? And Jigga being narcissistic as usual. It’s always a Bey and Jay event in their minds I guess. I digress! Oh and BTW, Drake is fine and classy, however, Lil Weezie was so dayum inappropriate for that performance. ALL MY LUV TO MY GIRL JAN (I BROKE DOWN WHEN SHE CAME ON).
I love u Michael. I miss you. And I’m sorry ur father is not really acting his best right now. R.I.P.
Nuff Said.

The BET awards was a HOT EGG & CHEESE MESS!!!!!
That was NOT a tribute show @ all! SMDH
The O’Jays had a much better tribute, the show was just a mess…. sadly, not even Beyonce could have saved it!
But in the show’s defense, they only had a few days to prepare for the “tribute” to MJ.

And @ Ariel Marie, how about if someone beat YOUR ASS, should we FORGET about it then???? If u are female, you REALLY SHOULD think about that!!!!!

i to was very dissapointed with the show, although i do recognize it as a tribute,so i send my prayers to the jackson family.while beyonce and ciara gave excellent heartfelt vocals both should have danced, chris brown should have performed but given the time situation im sure it would have been wretched anyway.while keri hilson could have pulled off beat it,and usher could have done thriller or bad.all together im fine assuming last years show could have been a better tribute.so the biggest moment goes to janet who looked beautiful and extremely hurt, trying to fight back tears,i thank the girl,we all know how hard that must have been, michael jackson R.I.P. i thank you for all you have contributed to todays musical scene.you will never be forgotten!!

oh my god. people. how can you say this wasn’t a tribute to mj? they completely overhauled the entire show within 3 days. they didn’t have it for only 5 minutes. they payed respect to the man throughout the whole show. nagging about there should have been chris brown or usher. making it seem like who can contribute the better tribute. it may have not been the tribute the way you like it but it was a TRIBUTE none the less. they payed their respect to mj the best way they could. and i think they did a fabulous job. i swear humans can be so damn ungrateful.
O-K sure...

I guess i musta been watchin another show because anyone with their head on str8 would be able to see that was NOT a real tribute to MJ. If you take out all the “tributes” they did for him, the show would’ve still been a LOW “OKay” at best.
The onli REAL highlight was when Janet came out. And Jamie Hosting was alright. Other than that there wasnt much that was that great about it. The editing was horrible, and wat’s really good with Jamie and Neyo doing like 324 songs? A REAL overhaul woulda been getting some other artists on last minute to sing something for MJ.
BET woulda been better off doing some kinda montage for MJ at the end of the show for the 30 mins, and then waiting til later to make a REAL tribute. One with all the performing and showmanship that Michael was best known for.
O-K sure...

and btw …celebs putting their 2cents about how MJ has affected them and sharing their condolences doesn’t make it a “tribute”. That’s a “duh” to know that damn near everyone and there moms was gonna say something about him.
A real tribute, as far as how BET was putting it out there, would’ve been better put together. i’m tired of ppl sayin how they onli had 2-3 days to put it together that’s why it was the way it was. NO…the planning for the awards has been going on for months in general and if you take out the MJ “tributes” it still woulda been wack like i said before.

L0L @ Spicy Goddess.. I KNOW BEATING A WOMAN IS WRONG BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE PUT AWAY THAT BULLSHIT FOR ONE FUCKING NIGHT TO CELEBRATE THIS MANS LIFE…. MICHAEL JACKSON EVEN SAID THAT HE LIKED CHRIS BROWN… SO THE FACT THAT HE DID WHAT HE DID HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH MICHAEL JACKSON….. !!!!!!!!! I STILL BELIEVE THAT CHRIS BROWN NEEDED TO BE ON THAT STAGE AND THE FACT THAT HE WASNT IS TRULY BULLSHIT !!
and BTW; WHERE WAS USHER ??
I KNOW HE IS GOING THROUGH A DIVORCE BUT HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE TOO !

What Beyonce did was for Michael. She changed her show like most of the other artists. Now, it’s definitely not what everyone is used to from B, but I think she did a good job and it was different.
Keri Hilson…the end of that performance was ummm….?????? very questionable, but that was outta line how they showed some people laughing at her. I didn’t quite get where she believe Michael channeled James Dean, but ok.
Ne-Yo sang the hell out of Lady In My Life. I have to give credit when credit is due.
Jamie’s Blame It performance was GRAND! Loved Travis Barker.
Ummm…Drake…didn’t really look at his. I understand he’s the IT guy right now and son’t get me wrong, I like him, but DAMN! I know too many people who watched the whole award show just to see him.
Janet…she looked really sad. =( I think that’s when it really hit me that Michael is really gone.
Ciara…I like Ciara, and she did a decent job, but I feel they could have possibly put Keke Palmer in her place? Keke Palmer did a nice rendition of Who’s Loving You.
Jay-Z? Didn’t really watch his either.
Keyshia and Monica…SANG ladies! Especially monica.
Overall, for it to be redone in 48 hours, they did a good job.

@ Ariel Marie
I suspect Chris Brown will perform on MTV or some other award show to pay tribute to MJ. So just becuz BET didn’t give him the opportunity, doesn’t mean he won’t be able to do it.
Usher was overseas & couldn’t make it back in time to participate in the ceremony.
Thanks for responding and ur right, I suppose differences could have been put aside for this,
DISCLAIMER: THESE ARE ALL RUMORS I HEARD, so I don’t know if ANY of it is true… but I hear that COVERGIRL (ie. Rihanna’s employers & BET’s sponsors) asked BET NOT to invite CB to the ceremony, especially after he pleaded guilty to crimes against her. BET made it a point to take back the invitation they originally extended to him for the festivities. PLUS, I heard Jay-Z also asked BET to NOT invite CB as well.
So I suppose POLITICS play large part in this as well.

Maxwell made the night and her performance wit the feathers , the angel and the flapping wings, was outstanding. That man can sing. And MOnica did her thing for real. Where her record at? She should play Gladys kNight if they ever make a biopic. Jamie was promoting his concert. Lil Wayn-Fail with 10 year olds on stage and one of them his daughter, WTF?

This B.E.T awards was thee WORST… I understand michael Jackson was a icon but the way they threw this together last minute was a horrible wreck! As far as the tributes they should have let Chris Brown do it because ne-yo or Jamie Foxx didn’t do nearly a quater of the things that chris brown would have.. All in all they should have went on as planned and did ONE tribute like they did everybody else.

that will be a DAMN SHAME if MTV will have a better show than BET !!!
but in the end i hope someone will get it right and tribute this mans life the way it should be..
@ Spicy Goddess;
if that is true about Jay Z that is crazy !!!
i love Jay Z too ! but i’m sorry people really should get over it

Janet’s address just broke my heart to pieces…. I sure didn’t think MJ would be gone so soon. My ache for Mrs Jackson.
I’d rather not say anything negative about the show as far as the Michael Jackson’s Tribute, so I’ll keep the rest to myself. But I believe BET can do something during the Walk Of Fame that could be outstanding!
