B.Scott, justice was served! This is his first time, he is an itty bitty little man, give him a break. From what I heard RiHanna is violent as well, I know, that doesn’t mean a thing, but if Chris came from a violent home, and saw his mom go through it, why he let another woman feel the same way his own mother did? Putting little pieces together makes you really understand what he did. Chris Brown is a superstar in the making, and I hope this doesn’t affect him. BScott, justice was served, Chris actually got a stricter penalty than a non-famous first time offender would have gotten. Rhianna’s lawyer also worked for this plea dela. That tells me that Rhianna didn’t want him to be penalized that much. I’m just glad its over. And, hope that it doesn’t hinder his career.

I think it’s interesting how she didn’t want the Protective Order on him and her lawyer stated to the judge she didn’t want this order at all….we don’t know what happened in that car but I will say this in the beginning everyone believed she hit him first but he took it to far and blah blah blah…right there when she struck him first people should have said ok we need to examine the female role and should we not hold her accountable for her actions. More and more crimes are being committed by women. What are we teaching our sons that if someone hits you like your girlfriend they should walk away but what if they try and leave and that young lady take it 2 steps further…what then…Chris and Rihanna were no longer dating that night when they were at the Pre-Grammy’s so him receiving a text and the drama unfolds leads me to believe she planned to go mad because of the break-up. I’m not saying what he did was right but she should have accepted some responsibility for her actions that night as well….this story isn’t over and the truth always have a way of coming out….

I feel it was a harsh penalty. In the case he is a first time offender. There is alot more serious cases of DV out there with penalties that are not as harsh as his. I feel because of him and Rhianna’s status the outcome of the case was unjust. Which is sad since things like that should not be looked at when involving the court of law.

I think when chris and his lawyers decided to go with the plea bargin suggest to me that there was a hella lot more of what happened that night that they rather the public not know….

i mean u plea bargin and u are now known as a convicted felon, cant vote, subjected to searches at any time, will have issues travelling abroad and dont forget the probation and the community service etc etc….i mean if u were so innoncent why would you plea to that …coz u know if Ri Ri testified his azz would have received some hard time in d state pen.

The problem is people think to black and white about things. Like Styleicon said.. I to believe it was a fight with mutual combat. That is why the judge spoke to her saying she needs to not contact him also. The message should be NO ONE SHOULD HIT. I hate the message that is being sent…Women/girl ALWAYS=Victim. That is not true many times women are the aggressor. And it is easy to say walk away but that message just empowers aggressive/violent women to feel there will be no consequences for their actions.

Injustice is the NFL player who was drunk driving and KILLED a man and received 30days in jail…..That was a Hott MESS!!

I believe that this was not an attack but a fight; mutual combat where Rihanna was the one who called the police and sustained the majority of the injuries. there are 2 victims. Even though I love his music & all that.. I think he got off on a light charge! At the end of the day he assulted someone and that’s wrong morally, legally and all sorts of other ways.

B I love you very much..but I have to tell you i don’t agree..personally from sources I know this is the real story….rihanna was really violent towards chris, she would hit him..that night when they were in the car and they were having an argument chris abruptly stopped the car and when he did, rihanna’s head hit the dashboard ( thats why she had the lump on her head) Chris not being able to take rihanna and her drama anymore told her to get out the car she wouldn’t take off her seatbelt and began hitting chris back so he got out the car ,opened her door nd they fought a lil more. ( she scratched and hurt him also but somehow the media didn’t leak pictures of him that night)
Because chris is a guy he’s always going to be blamed for things like this no matter how innocent he is ( thats reverse sexism)
The court, lawyer and judges know rihanna is crazy too thats why they ordered a restraining order on her also.
Rihanna and chris are only 20 and 21 ..they are still kids and they have a lot of growing up to do especially since they’re youth was taken away from them because of their careers. Those were the years they were suppose to learn a lot about relationships and the real world.
I’m not saying abuse is right because its not. I’m just saying every1 is crying poor rihanna without even looking at the whole spectrum.
B you should know how it feels to be seen as something you’re not.. u probably have people hate you because of who u r.
People may think you’re a monster too because you’re gay and you may be spreading stds because of your sexuality. Obviously you, all ur fansincluding myself know ur not. But to others they may see u the same way they see chris.

Rihanna never testified.

If she had, Chris Brown would be in jail.

She showed up ready to talk – they made a deal.

This trial is a snap shot of society. What happens in public isn’t half as bad as what goes on behind closed doors.

Abuse and Violence are hard to understand. I don’t think anyone here understands.
They think it’s about hitting and getting hit back. They think it’s about being young and making mistakes.
They think it’s about privacy.

I think Justice was served i hope they both learned a lesson here, we will never know the full story, people saying she started it etc etc etc…..even if that was the case he was drivign he could have stopped the car and get out and call his body guard one of his peeps something….or drive the car to the police station he could have pulled in to a gas station any of a number of things he could have done, but young man up his hands and hits her (thats putting it mildly).

I think he got enough, he’s young and hopefully counseling will help him deal with his issues both in this case and in the case of seeing his mother abused. I know of plenty regular joes whose wives look way worse than what rihanna did and they were out doing their regular thing a week later, NO repercussions at all, I do think 5 years is a bit much especially with the travel limitations but hopefully he will still be able to use his talents. I’m in no way condoning what he did, but I see this everyday and ppl get locked up for less and walk away free for doing more. Anyway, I hope they both get counseling. Like I said I don’t condone it in anyway, but none of us are perfect and some of us have gotten away with MORE, we were just lucky we didn’t get caught. I hope he is able to grow into an upstanding man and that he never does anything like this again. Living in the spotlight is HARD especially for people as young as Chris and Rihanna and sometimes those of us not in the spotlight don’t understand the pressure (again, that is NO excuse). I don’t think Chris should be in or under the jail, not at all but he needs to do his service, learn, grow, and move on.

I had decided not to comment today or as far as his plea deal but reading some of the comments on here and other places it really made me stop and think. Did folks think it was them in the car with Chris that night? Are folks vicariously living the life they want to live through Rihanna? Having read comments like folks are satisfied with the outcome… why did it matter to you? Chris nor Rihanna does not know you. Neither depended on your contempt or support during this time. Neither chose you to be judge and jury. Get Real… Nothing that went on in the courtroom was about you.

My personal opinion is Chris’ plea deal was over and beyond harsh. Five years probation for a first time offense… especially considering the alledged victim was not pushing for such a conviction…. 180 hours of community service… reportedly hard labor…. 52 sessions of dv/anger management counselling… a stay away order concerning him and Rihanna…. even with her stating that it was not needed… why was he given all of this?

While many of you are sitting on here celebrating like you all have just won something take a moment and think. Don’t you find it ironic that no such order was issued during all the time leading up to the celebrated plea deal? Don’t you find it strange that someone who has committed a first time offense was essentially handed a felon or else charge when there are countless other instances when an assault domestic or otherwise resulted in nothing more than a few months probation and a misdemeanor?

Have you at least taken a step back and look at the hard labor/180 hour of community service tag and asked yourself why? Ms. Campbell who is a known defendant in front of a judge was only given a weeks worth of community service and no one blinked an eye at that and yet Chris deserves 180 hours… come on now. My thinking is the judge wanted to make a name for herself or at least get her name mentioned on the news. The penalty handed out and agreed upon today was not fair and whether you are still trying living your life through Robyn Rihanna Fenty you know that.

I am neither happy or elated that all is over… I see the bigger picture and can only shake my head at the attempted destruction of both Chris and Rihanna through the media, blogs, gossip sites, magazines, fanboards/fansites and will continue to pray for both. I will agree justice was not served… Chris was given a raw deal and folks are celebrating it.

But I do think; instead of washing firetrucks and pulling weeds he could be going out and speaking at high schools and community centers about domestic violence from the man’s side. But then again so should she. I also feel that she was being very cowardly by not wanting to testify, it kind of says that it’s okay. I just see both of them in a different light now.

I think the penalty is harsh enough. He plead guilty. The domestic assault charge will be on his criminal record forever. He is on probation for 5 years ~ he probably would have gotten less time with a jury, BUT the facts being out there would be too heavy a burden for him to carry from now on. He is now a convicted felon. If he is ever seen with even a shell casing of a bullet, he will do jail time in federal prison. He can never be near Rihanna again ~ if he steps within 10 yards (30 feet) of her, he’s going to the State correctional facility for the full 5 year sentence.

Considering the fact that he is a first time offender, he got a very very VERY harsh sentence. In most states, first time offenders have an opportunity to get the matter cleared from their record at the end of their probation ~doesn’t look like Chris is getting that same courtesy.

Let me first say I’m not at all agreeing that abuse is okay, but compared to other women beaters his sentence was harsh. Most cases they just have to pay a fine and do anger management, yes lord I said a fine.
The whole justice system needs to be reworked, somebody needs to be taking a closer look at things.
Part of growing up is making mistakes and learning from them. I know for a fact that no matter how much family and other people try to tell you to do this or warn you about this. You are going to do what you want. I hope has learned to go take a walk and step away from the situation.

People also need to remember in the eyes of God sin is sin and ain’t no sin more heinous than the other.
