June 18, 2009 New Music: Maxwell – BLACKsummers’ Night
Maxwell returns from nearly a decade-long hiatus with his new 3-part album, BLACKsummers’ Night. The first disc is set to hit stores on July 7th, with the next two scheduled for release in 2010 and 2011. Love muffins, I have to say that I’m a little disappointed with this first installment. I absolutely love the lead single “Pretty Wings”, but this album leaves me feeling a little empty. Maybe because it’s only 9 songs? I’m not sure…this one might have to grow on me. Hopefully BlackSUMMERS’ Night and Blacksummers’ NIGHT leave me feeling a bit more fulfilled.
Don’t forget, Maxwell will be hitting the stage at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans on July 4th!

I love Maxwell and going to his concert in Seattle this coming Tuesday, but now I am hopin he play mostly his old stuff.. besides Prettys Wings there is nothing else that is giving me goose bumps on the new album..Maybe it will be grown on me.. sigh

THANK U SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS ALBUM…I have to agree that this one is going to grow on me……he for sure experimented with different sounds….with him being gone for so long it make sense that he would try to take us on a journey …..it reminds me of how i felt about Embrya!
