i’ve loved Mariah since vision of love, this SONG is sad. I’ve dealt with the bad live performances, the bad lipped performances, the lIPPED high notes. Something is wrong with her voice. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH HER VOICE.

I love this more and more with each listen. Mariah is unstoppable. She is in a league of her own. This is the music that is selling now. What was the last ballad that was #1? I just looked on wikipedia and the last balled to be #1 was “Take A Bow” by Rihanna and that was in May of last year and “Bleeding Love” was the only other #1 ballad of that year.
If you so called fans followed MC you would know that her big ballad is coming up next. She said on her twitter she had to put this out first but she’s gonna give yall some “Butterfly” flavor coming up!

LOL for a couple reasons….
This is NOT a fast club banger, it’s mid-tempo (idiots)
Secondly, so the lyrics arent classicaly brilliant, but it’s 2009, you want old lady Mariah, try Emotions!
It takes a certain ear and fan to appreciate Mariah present day. If you listen to a HQ version, as always – the vocal layering and harmonies are TIGHT, these new jacks aint up on that type of plushness….LOVE IT…Great song….if you want old school substanance go listen to Stephanie Mills and leave Mariah alone…

It’s clear she’s talking about M&M, or so we think, but take him out of the equasion…..this stong still holds true about people obsessed with others…plus I like the fact that Mariah put it out there like that, she’s gangsta like that LOL…..Eminem better stick to dissing Britney and Christina cuz Mariah will write a song about your ass (or two!)

I’m a HUGE lamb and i LOVE mariah to death but this song is just not what i expected its extremely below her standards.. I could have understand if this was just a demo that didn’t make the album, but if this is on the album she should be ashamed of herself for lowering to eminem’s level! I just hope the other tracks will makeup for this shitty ’single’.

I understand you love her so you love it. However the quality of Mariahs music doesnt live up to her hype. I asked several people ages 15-30 one question “Would you say Mary J Blige is classier than Mariah Carey” they all said yes. Seems like over the years shes actually degressed instead of progressed. I love Mariah because I have all her albums, but A LOT of her latest work doesnt hold a candle to the older stuff, and yes TEOM was a big album but why? because it was closer to her older material, and mature material than we’d seen before, thats what sold that record. It damn sure wasnt “Its Like That”

Regina, get your facts straight, more #1 records and sales doesn’t make you more relevant. Whitney set the standard for female vocalist today, the same blueprint that mariah herself followed, thats relevance. And whitney is working on her sixth studio cd and mariah her eleventh, big different sales-wise.

Whitney is not relevant, sweetie. She will be when she has her album out again (hope it does really well), but when you are off the scene…..you are irrelevant.
Whitney is indeed responsible for inspiring some of the R&B voices out nowadays…..BUT……that does not make her relevant.
Hate it or love it, Mariah has been & (until she calls it quits) will continue to be relevant. That’s what you call an artist…..and not just a singer.

The Man….your post is very well stated…I don’t know why people keep acting as if sales is a verification of quality ….Back Street Boys & Nsync were selling 1 million albums in a week….does it make them better than the BEATLES…NO!!!! Mariah has like 12 albums….Whitney is on her 7th…and still up there as one of the biggest selling female artist of ALL time…and up there with artists with the MOST #1 singles….JUST IMAGINE IF WHITNEY HAD 12 ALBUMS?????!!!!!!
Mariah relaesed an album in 2008…and is RUSHING to release in album in 2009…around the same time as Whitney…why??? Because Whitney is relevant!

TheMan, if sales and #1’s don’t measure relevance then what does? If my memory serves me correctly is has been around a decade since Whitney has had a hit on the radio. If i told my baby cousin Whitney Houston has an album coming out he would say who is Whitney Houston? If I played him a Mariah song he would say “my mommy and daddy like this too”. Whitney is a great singer, but it would be hard to argue that she is relevant in 2009 because there are not a lot people checking for Whitney Houston. The last thing i remember her doing was the “Being Bobby Brown” Show!!!

Whitney is NOT relevant! and she won’t be. That intoxicated woman has only set a standard vocally cause that’s all she brought in the 90’s, crack head doesn’t write or produce shit. She hasn’t been relevant for over a decade! Standards changed Mariah has always ran the game and set the bar she’s the only one that can break her own records and set new ones yet still stay relevant and look fine in the process. Get over Stop hatin on true talent cause Whitney wasted and abused hers with drugs. Who knows if she even gets a crack at the charts her voice ain’t golden its dusted and rusted. Mariah will get another #1 and break another record or two. Keeping crying over Whit cause she ain’t bringin shit.

I bet half the people complaining about this song are over the age of 35 lol Number one MUSIC is changing like it always has and Mariah is doing what she has to do to make sure she has money in her pockets as the saying goes “Don’t hate the player, hate the GAME”. Who can guarantee that her 12 albums would sell out as much as Mariah? Yawnz. Don’t forget Just Whitney dropped out of the charts faster than you can pronounce her full name.
