June 12, 2009 New Music: Jojo – 25 to Life
I can not begin to explain how excited I am to share this with you all! Jojo has graced us with the official first single for her upcoming album All I Want Is Everything. A lot of people sleep on Jojo because she’s young, but I’ll tell you this girl has one of the best voices in the industry — hands down! “25 to Life” was previously recorded by Marsha Ambrosius (formerly of Floetry), but apparently that didn’t work out. While both ladies did an amazing job with the song, I’m beyond thrilled that Jojo ended up with the track!

THE SONG THAT WAS LEAKED IS NOOOOOOT MY FIRST SINGLE!!!
Current mood: blessedI woke up in London today to quite a suprise- a song that i recorded “25 to Life” has been leaked!!!!!!!! i am definetly not the culprit this and it is a bit frustrating that material is coming out that is NOT inteneded to be a first single or even a representation of the album. i LOOVE this record however. Marsha Ambrosious (formerly from Floetry) wrote and recorded the song first but then was kind enough to let me take a stab at it for my album
. This is one of the ONLY records that i did not write or co-write. im happy that you guys are responding postively to the new music, yet just a bit annoyed that its not official. like i said- once theres a first single- u will know!!!!!!!!

YAY!!! I LOVE JOJO!!! YES I AGREE EVERYONE SLEEPS ON JOJO; AND THEY DONT TAKE HER SERIOUS!!!! I TOTALLY LOVE HER AND I LOVE THE NEW SINGLE ITS A DIFFERENT SOUND AND STYLE OF MUSIC FOR HER ITS REALLY GETTING MORE BACK TO THE R&B VIBE THAN THE LAST ALBUM WHICH WAS GREAT BUT IT WAS GOING FOR THE POP/MAINSTREAM AREA, NOT THAT IT’S BAD, BUT I LOVE WHEN SHE DOES HER R&B UPTEMPO’S AND BALLADS(AS MIMI) WOULD SAY HAHA, …JOJO’S CUTE, SHE REMINDS ME OF AALIYAH.

I’m not mad at JoJo’s “take” on the song. Marsha’s version was sick, but I’m also feeling the different runs that JoJo does.
All in all, JoJo has amazing vocal talent. I’m looking forward to the new album.

Yes! I love JoJo. Her voice is amazing and she really doesn’t get the credit she deserves. Her ability and her age always astound me. Can’t wait for the new album. I met her a couple years back, she was so adorable and down to earth.

While I am a JoJo fan, her version is nowhere near as good as Marsha’s!! Marsha KILT that joint! It was meant for a more soulful voice!

I love JoJo and she can sing like crazy, but I don’t think she’ll get to the next level with this song. Hope her second single will be hotter. At least this doesn’t sound like all the other songs out now.

Yes! Her voice is amazing and she’s often underrated! LOVE her! As for the song, I WANTED to like it…LOL! But it didn’t happen that way though.

Are you sure this is the first official single off her album because she posted a blog on myspace saying that the songs that are leaking are not on her album and that she’s still working out a distribution deal with her label.

Jojo has an amazing voice. I have been a fan of her since her first single. I respect her for taking a break from music and applying to college and all. I think that shows a lot about her.

This doesn’t sound like an official single…Jojo always comes harder than this. I will say I do like her version better, the texture of her voice is so sexy and, believe it or not, her runs are better than Marsha’s. At least in this song. I’m sooo excited for her album.

Im at a loss to comment on who’s version is better. Im big on vocals and I absolutely am fool over Marsha A. – so going in i was like…Im not even gunna want to listen to JoJo’s after I listen to Marsha’s – but BAAAAYYBBBEEE…JoJo DID THAT! I was listening to JoJo and thinking back to Marsha’s and I JoJo took it to some different places – she put her foot in that. She can hang with the best of them cuz Marsha’s vocals are SICK. So kudos to JoJo for slapping the hell outta this track and big ups to Marsha because she is SO amazing, i cannot wait for an entire album of hers to drop. Thanks B!

i dont care which version is better but technically both did great job and jojo’s voice is very unique cuz she killed the crowd when she was only 8 years old too bad only little ppl perciate her talent and voice
