June 11, 2009 Usher Files For Divorce!
According to In Touch Usher is divorcing his wife Tameka Foster — the divorce papers were filed in Atlanta this morning.
In Touch can exclusively reveal that Usher and his wife, Tameka Foster, are divorcing. “The Grammy winner has been living apart from his wife for nearly a year after almost two years of marriage,” an insider exclusively tells In Touch, adding, “Usher’s primary concern is for his children. He is a great father and just wants to do what is right for them.” The soon-to-be exes have two kids together, Usher Raymond V, 18 months, and Naviyd, 6 months. And the insider says that it’s more than just talk — the divorce papers were filed in Atlanta this morning. The couple has faced problems in the past. In November 2008, In Touch reported that Usher was flirting with girls at a party in Miami, and even asked a model what she was doing afterward. And in February, In Touch revealed that although Usher flew to Tameka’s side after she suffered cardiac arrest from cosmetic surgery in Brazil, he “had no idea that she was there to have surgery.”
I can’t say that I didn’t see this one coming. Actually, I’m surprised that it didn’t happen sooner. I’m sure there are personal reasons as to why the marriage didn’t work out, and it’s nobody’s place to judge what went wrong or to place blame on either party. I will say this though, with Usher’s new album scheduled for release later this year it’ll be interesting to see whether he plays up the “player” image as opposed to the “married” image that many saw as the main reason for the commercial failure of his last album. Now that Tameka is out of the picture, if this album underperforms, he has no one else to blame but himself.

Im pretty sure this coming album will do just a good, i dont get what people are tlking aboiut when they say failure of the last album, didnt the man sell like 1millionthe first week? or was it 3million somethin like that. Usher is on top of his game, and i believe his next album will do even bigger then the last, i hav yet to see failure in any of his releases, but clearly the media all live off negative reviews so they will try their hardest to spread shade as always.
Im sure “MONSTER” will be exactly what the title speaks for itself, MONSTER HITZ! and a MONSTER SELL! and one big MONSTERPIECE! lol

Wow, people should not tie their personal lives to album releases. I am not checking for usher married or single. But I wish he and his family the best. The boys are the ones who may suffer the most. Wow.

So much to say…yet so little….It is official that being a celebrity no longer carries the prestige of days past. The world has gone so bonkers lately that I wish I could say that I’m shocked….or that I care. As B.Scott would say:
JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL! If he left his committment to sell records…Jesus is the only one who can help him.

Even if it is true, has the world ever given this couple a fair chance to be happy?Everyone speculated from the start on what his motivation was to marry Tameka. Whatever it was, it happened. Only that man and that woman know the truth. I must say she is a super tough cookie to put up with everything that has been thrown her way. Hopefully the kids will be adjusted and raised happily regardless of what’s going on with their mom and dad. The adults will handle themselves.

Well I’m honestly not a fan of Tameka’s but on the other hand I have to reason to dislike her. I’m hoping this “rumor” as it stands is not true because they have two very young kids and Tameka has three older children that this will effect greatly. I’ve read a couple of other blog sites and its just horrible people are cheering and crowing over the fact that they maybe getting a divorce, people are so cruel. No matter what peoples opinions of Tameka or Usher the fact still remains that they are married and that the whole point of marriage is a “for life” deal. Obviously you have two people here who don’t grasp that concept. Usher being younger and never being in a truly committed relationship were he did’nt end up dogging and disrespecting the woman lady (Chilli, & Ben Vereens daughter) both times he cheated on them to be with the next chick, now Tameka who he was cheating with on Chilli….do you sense a pattern here?

I THINK THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN SPLIT UP SHE WAS TOO OLD FOR HIM AND HE WAS TOO YOUNG FOR HER SHE SEEMED LIKE SHE WAS INSECURE GOING TO BRAZIL TO GET LIPO AND ALL. ITS JUST SAD THAT THE KIDS WONT LIVE IN A TWO PARENT HOUSEHOLD ANY LONGER. ITS A SHAME THE WAY CELEBRITIES DONT TAKE MARRIAGE OR VOWELS SERIOUSLY. WHAT HAPPENED TO DEATH DUE US PART. NOW A DAYS MARRIAGE IS JUST A SHOW AND THE WEDDING IS JUST A SHOW TOO.

I feel bad for them because they are that couple that everyone knew wasn’t going to work but they were still blindly optimistic. They had several challenges: bringing children from a previous relationship into the marriage, having not one but two children early into a marriage (and before you get used to each other), the signification age difference, pressure of being a celebrity, the pressure of being a celebrity spouse, keeping secrets (like going against medical advice & flying to a foreign country to have major surgery).
I love Usher and I think Tameka is a beautiful woman and hopefully a good mommy now that it’s looking like she’ll be a single mother of 5 children. I wish them both all the best.

This is sad. The whole world was up against their relationship from day one. Divorce is never a good thing for anyone no matter how amicable. May they both be well during this process.

I don’t if this is true. I can’t find any reputable news source that is covering this story. I’m only seeing it being reported on Blogs and Gossip sites. Nor has Usher’s spokesperson made a statement.

This is my Opinion; But for his Albums’ sake being single will help Ushers Sales for the new Album, Unless you really like Ushers music or have a Crush on him, You most likely now gonna rush out to purchase his CD. Now I am sad that theirs going to be a divorce involved, but its best for the children to be in a joyful enviroment than a no joy. I think Usher really fell in love with her for “alot ” of different reasons, firstly to get Mother off his back, to give his mother grandchildren . Usher really did have a crush on her, plus if he’s married then how could he be “Gay” so that stopped that rumor, and lastly he wanted to have children to have his empire of wealth when he passes on etc….. Usher is a good man. Usher and his Dad weren’t close as you all know so hopefully before dad moved on he talked about everything and every issue. The children will be taken care of. But can he handle another man raising his children is my question? Cause mother Tamekia loves men!

Well it’s sad any way you look at it. There are 2 babies involved in this mess. I guess that goes to show you that regardless if you are having kids that doesn’t mean that you are happy and kids don’t save the marriage either….

well, i agree with some comment that said marriage is supposed to be until “death do us part” but sometimes it doesn’t work that way, i hate to say it. I hope the boys will be ok and that they will do what’s best for everyone in the family (if this gossip is true).
when it comes to the music, i LOVED Usher’s last 2 albums. I don’t see where he “fell off” I guess some ppl just couldn’t understand his new approach to his music. after all, why not write music about your life and that’s what was going on in his life at the time… ppl amaze me lol. but I also wish them the best and hope they make a sound decision.
