Love muffins, Apple’s long-awaited Worldwide Developer’s Conference is at last over, and, as expected, the next generation iPhone along with its list of features have been announced. The new iPhone will be called iPhone 3GS (the “S” stands for speed) because it is on average 2x faster than the current 3G model (the radio on the phone will now support 7.2 Mbps 3G, meaning that 3G speeds you’re now seeing on the iPhone will theoretically double, and the processor is faster) and will be available sooner than expected – June 19th!The look of the phone will stay the same, but its guts are totally different – for example, double the memory, video recording, voice control, 3.2 MP camera with autofocus, support for MMS and more. New Features:

– The new iPhone 3G S comes with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, a 100% bump from the 8GB and 16GB iPhone 3G offerings
– Apple confirmed today that the new iPhone sports a faster processor and a 7.2Mbps HSDPA-compatible radio
– Camera has been bumped up to 3.2 megapixels. Also added auto-focus and geotagging support.
– iPhone 3GS is all about video — 30fps video recording, video editing, video sharing
– Integrated compass
– Better battery life – 5 hours of 3G talk time and up to 24 hours of music playback
– OS – tethering is now covered, Find My iPhone feature (available to MobileMe subscribers only). Turn-by-turn nav is game on
– 3.0 will be available beginning June 17th — free for iPhone owners, $9.95 for iPod Touch owners.
– iPhone 3G S will ring up at $199 for the 16GB version and $299 for the 32GB version. The current 8GB iPhone 3G will hang around and drop to $99 starting today
– The 3G S looks exactly like the 3G
– Voice Control is now built in so you can dial by voice, control iPod playback by voice and so on. We have to admit though, saying “play more songs like this” to initiate the Genius feature is cool
– iPhone 3G S goes on sale June 19th in the US
