June 7, 2009 Jam It? Or Slam It? Jay-Z – D.O.A.

Jay-Z has finally decided to drop something from his highly anticipated The Blueprint 3 album (which is due out September 11th). “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)” is Hova’s return to music after the super success of his last album, The Blueprint 2. I agree that auto-tune needs to go…but I think that if it’s going to go away, it needs to be replaced with something hot! To me, this isn’t that hot. I can’t say that I’m feeling this song too much and I’m slightly disappointed because I expected him to come so much harder than this.
Love muffins, does this song signify the death of auto-tune? Or would you prefer to hear some auto-tuned hotness?

Eh, slam it…not feeling this at all and I’ve been a J fan since ‘Reasonable Doubt’. Sure, the auto tune had been done a tad much but I don’t think we’ll be hearing the ‘end’ of it anytime soon.
Lyrically this song is a major disappointment, coming from J.

I love the song and i think its hot. Jay puts so much afford in his music. BSCOtt u have to respect that!!! i like the song. Jay is my dude. HE’s fly and so inspiring. Jay is spending 250,000 on a beat while beyonce is only buying a 50,000 beat. Ya see the difference?? Jay deserve high success.
And please jay break from this horrible chick Beyonce. She’s so full of herself. ughHhhhhhh!!

I understand this is for the streets, but this is weak! Sounds like stuff he did years ago. You can’t make a song about the death of auto tune that is weaker than just about every auto tune song out.

I love Hova and everything, but I hope this song isn’t a jab at “T-Pain,” because I don’t care what anybody says…….T-PAIN is one of todays greatest……..yeah I said it, “GREATEST!!!” Besides “Roger Troutman” (the father of auto-tune), nobody else does Auto-Tune the way T-pain does….NOBODY! Not to mention, there aren’t too many aritsts of today who can claim the “Triple Threat” title like T-pain can. Say what you will, but at the end of the day, you can’t deny that T-pain is a very talented rapper/singer/dancer. Not to mention, he has his own style, he writes his own music and he seems very nice, humble & respectful. To be honest, I am actually sick of everybody else doing auto-tune, but T-PAIN gets a ‘FREE’ pass, because he does it better.
