June 6, 2009 New Album: Mandy Moore – Amanda Leigh

Love muffins, sweet-as-pie Mandy Moore has returned with her highly anticipated new album entitled Amanda Leigh – which was released on May 26th. Co-written by Mandy and primarily, Mike Viola, Amanda Leigh was recorded at engineer, Ducky Carlisle’s modest basement studio in his home outside of Boston and features an impressive and eclectic collection of vintage equipment utilized throughout the album. The resulting collaboration, Amanda Leigh (Moore’s given name), is a collection of personal reflections and insights about life and love as evidenced in songs such as “Nothing Everything,” “Song About Home,” and “Love to Love Me Back”.
Mandy mentioned that she is “connected to these songs and the way they came to fruition in a way [she's] never been able to articulate before. The entire experience was one that [she] will undoubtedly replicate.” Be on the lookout for Mandy as her intent will be to tour in support of Amanda Leigh.
View her performance of “I Could Break Your Heart Any Day of the Week” which aired on the Ellen DeGeneres Show not too long ago after the jump.

I love Mandy and started buying her albums when ‘Coverage’ was released because it wasn’t that sugary pop nonsense. She really has come into her own and ‘Amanda Leigh’ deserves her a Grammy.

I don’t care what anybody says, “Mandy Moore” is definitely “The Buisness.”
When she first came on the scene with “Candy,” I wasn’t really feeling her.
I thought she was average, “Typical Pretty Skinny Blondes, With Zero Talent.” When I first saw the “Candy” video, I thought 2 myself “Here we go again,” but as the years went by, I realized that there was more 2 Mandy. I realized that she wasn’t just another pretty face. The girl actually has talent.
She has her own style and she’s a great actress/singer & I’m very proud of her. “SAVED” is my favorite movie of hers & “EXTRAORDINARY” is my favorite song/video of hers. I swear I’m always walking around my house singing “EXTRAORDINARY.” I totally L.O.V.E that song…….and video (lol).
