marion_dior

The fashion blogs have been buzzing about Marion Cotillard’s Christian Dior Spring 2009 Tribal Heels that were worn at the ‘Bike In Style’ event in NYC on Tuesday. The silver strappy shoes are accessorized with an African fertility goddess figurine as the heel. What do you think of the Dior’s? Hate ‘em or love ‘em?

Get a closer look of the ‘fertility’ heel after the jump!

  • the shoe is GREAT love the look… don’t like the heel.

  • Umm… there different.

  • Hmmmm. . .I don’t know. . .interesting idea—but I haven’t the foggiest idea where you could rock that! It looks too much like a museum piece!

  • wtf were they thinking ruining that gorgeous shoe with that hideous heel…. HATE IT

  • I can say they are EXTREMELY Unique.
A tleast her heels where done…would have been a killer of the whole shoe if her feet were janky.lol

  • love da dior heels 2 bad my thick tail will wear da heel down..they’ll be dior flip flops but I’ll be an amazonian till it does@

  • up close they are slightly scary but far away they are the bizness!

  • its okhay. itsz not da prettiest but i like dat its different. knowinq me i deff wud wear it jus 2 try it. like sumfin dat grabs ppl attention.

  • Oh no ma’am. These are not fashionable as far as I can see. O.o

  • Hated it!

  • I think they’re pretty MAJAH!!! Get it, Dior!!

  • Very innovative and culturistic!

  • I love it…hope the proceeds go towards africa somehow

  • i love them! OMG

  • I’m lovin the idea of a designed heel but I’m not feelin the “fertility” design. I like the idea of the wavey design tho.

  • I though they were kind of cute, until I saw the close up of the naked woman. They’re kind of weird looking.

  • I love them. I’m not 100% sure about the fertility heel but I’d still rock them

  • well idk think stepping on the fertility goddess is goin help those who wanna be pregnant. it might be disrespectful in fact. that kinda freaks me out. it would be the same as wearing a miniskirt that says “i Heart jesus” on the booty. i just think that there’s a time and place for things lyk that.

  • Those are cool if i COULD wear high heels i’d sport these in asecond

  • I totally agree with Drea on this one. I kept thinking she’s standing on the fertility goddess there is something wrong about that. I think I might be offended. It’s disrespectful. What were they thinking. Besides that the design of the heel can not be good for the foot.

  • This another example of some “dippin-and-dappin ” in the intricate energies and spiritual essence(s) of someone else’s culture, doing for reason that are all including shallow and materialistic, and then we wonder why so many of us have MAJOR problems in life with love, bearing children, just being balanced in life. These energies or Gods and Goddesses existed long before christianity for a reason people, cause they were and are powerful!!!!and these energies are ancient and intelligent forces in the universe. I would not EVEN walk into a store that had these shoes on display, such bad mojo to walk on a representation of child-bearing,and life. But since this figure came from Mother Africa, and is “tribal” (what the hell does that mean any way,how insulting”),then its ok,….people we need to speak up for mother Africa,..she is our mother and ignorance like this will not be stood for. I love the idea, but change the figure,…..maybe bamboo, onyx with wonderful africa embosed patterns,……but why use Mother Goddess??

  • I love everything but the heal >.<

  • I like them dont love them. something about the fertility goddess freaked me out too. lol

  • love it !! those are bad bitch heels! :D

  • I like the shoe, hate the heel and that lady’s toe that is hanging out the shoe is disturbing me a lil…..lol

  • i think these heels are incredibly sacrilegious. inappropriate to walk or stand on anyone’s god or goddess.

  • UGLY ASS SHOES!! Now if it was a naked man with a big ding ding… that would be CUTE

  • Spicy Goddess

I like them, but I don’t like the idea of a woman stepping on the back of a native, the symbolism is little much for me!

  • Love the shoes but the first person that was ever caught in a pic with those shoes was Ms. Keys !

  • not feelin this at all…for a number of reasons….

the first being that they are hideous….

  • African Indian Canadian Queen
