June 1, 2009 Box office: Disney’s ‘Up’ Rises to #1

Disney’s 3-D animated feature, Up, was #1 at the box office this weekend, grossing a massive $68.2 million domestically. Ben Stiller’s Night at the Museum sequel came in second with $25.5 million for a total of $105.2 million. In third place was horror flick Drag Me To Hell with $16.6 million. The latest Terminator installment, Terminator Salvation, was fourth with $16.1 million and $90.6 million thus far. Rounding out the top five was Star Trek with $12.8 million and $209.5 million domestically.

That was a great movie… for both young and old. It made me laugh, cry, and think. Pixar is doing a wonderful job. All of their movies are artistic and informative. It’s definitely worth seeing – a wonderful theatrical experience.
