if a woman hits a man, he has every right to press charges. He has to choose to do it just like anybody else.

If a person wakes up on the side of the road beaten and the police find out who did it – the STATE presses charges not the PERSON.

Chris Brown can still press charges on Rihanna if he wants to. Rihanna has nothing to do with the charges – the POLICE see her as the victim NOT the WOMAN. thats why she is being subpoenaed – she’s being forced to testify as a witness to what happened to her.

the STATE will decide if what he did was a crime. Im sure he needs a good lawyer if any of you duhdunt duhdunts want to help him fight the charges.

but seeing as rihanna woke up in the hospital it might be hard to defend Chris Brown seeing as HE DIDNT PRESS ANY CHARGES.

If anyone is owed an apology it is Rihanna and I am sure that has been extended many many times. He issued a public apology, but the public rejected it as insincere so I don’t blame him for not trying it again. He has to go on living. He is too young to just stop living. He began taking anger management classes in early March, but noone cares. How do you know he isn’t receiving psychiatric help? I don’t believe he needs to explain his every step to the unrelenting and unforgiving public, especially those like B. Scott who seem angry about something else. You can never satisfy a person or people like that so why try? I wish the best for Chris and Rihanna. I think worse than the injuries she suffered in the fight is the unsolicitated advice she is getting from “well meaning” nosey people like B. Scott. Leave them alone and for God sake don’t drag Bow Wow into this just because he is sticking by his friend! You people make me sick! So self righteous…yeah right!

Am I a hater because I do not condone domestic violence? How about an apology, maybe a little humilty? Is that to much to ask. I cannot judge Chris Brown because a sin is a sin and there are many things that I do that others may consider to be wrong. However, one must ask where is the remorse for what has happened..you are not a monster Chris Brown, but what you also are NOT is SORRY FOR WHAT HAS TRANSPIRED. Guilty or not…be an example to young men(not just black) everywhere and own up to what has happened. I do not know what went on that night and neither does anyone. All we have are allegations and one horrendous picture. But I WILL NOT..WILL NOT stand for domestic violence. Chris Brown should evaluate this situation much better than he has…granted he is human and we all make mistakes but AMERICA STOP JUSTIFYING HIS ACTIONS….please. Also, Chris Brown and Bow Wow have been friends well before this incident happened. I know you dont like him B. but BW and Chris have been sidekicks since I can remember.

Lastly, people do make mistakes and rebound from them. My father made a HUGE mistake and threatened my mom with violence (not going to go in to detail, but it wasn’t a good look;). But, he knows what he did was wrong; he literally snapped. Getting the cops involved and having the DA press charges will bring a person down to Earth REAL QUICK. But, he made a mistake and learned from it. I am certain he will never do it again. I could have closed him off (I did, for a short time cuz I was angry, and rightfully so) but what good what that do? His action was a cry for help. And after, the tears, the talks and the counseling, it’s made him a better person. He’s still a work in progress, but he’s not a monster. A flawed man, but not a monster.

Number one..Chris is not a boy. He may be young, but he is not a boy. He is a man and in the laws of America once you turn 18 yrs of age you are considered as a adult. You can be trialed as an adult. I am not choosing sides because I don’t know their story. Chris and Robyn are both adults and they decided to handle their arguments behind closed door another way. We need to all just worry about ourselves…and just remember that your actions will have consequences and that’s exactly what happened that night. I can’t speak for Chris Brown, but I’d like to think if I had whupped Rihanna’s ass that I would be somewhere trying to figure out what was wrong with me and how I could repair my public image – not jet skiing at Diddy’s and tooling around with Lil’ Bow Wow.

I don’t want Chris burned at the stake, but I don’t want him patted on the back, either. He wants to be a man, then man up; that means taking responsibility for your actions, so I’ll be interested in hearing what he has to say once he finally can speak on it publicly. Until then, he should probably STFU. If you want to call folks haters and declare yourself “not a monster,” you should probably wait until you can prove it.

And, yes, there are plenty of celebrity criminals and Rihanna isn’t an angel, and blah, blah, blah, but other people’s wrong doings don’t soften the blow of Chris’ and Rihanna ain’t the one who caught charges.

Sorry B. but what is he supposed to do? Kill himself? He messed up big time, but that doesn’t mean he has to close himself off from his friends; his life goes on, just like Rihanna, and everyone else’s lives after a negative experience. It’s not like he’s out showboating (minus the jetsking incident; not sure what that was). For the most part, he’s stayed to himself. His fans come up to him for pics and autographs, but other than that, he’s kept a low profile. There’s only so much he can say during an going trial; perhaps he’s been advised (like Rihanna) to not even talk about the incident until the trial is over. The only people he needs to make an apology to and make a mends with, is Rihanna, her family and his family, and God. Those are the people he hurt, not us; those are people he needs forgiveness from. Sure we’re disappointed, but we were not physically and mentally affected by what he did; they were. So as far as I’m concerned, those are the people he needs to be winning over. And who’s to say he hasn’t saught counseling already? His life and times is not documented 24.7 so we dont know what he’s doing to remedy his mistakes. There are people that make screw ups EVERYDAY but they learn from them and move on, hopefully to never repeat those mistakes. Unless you are an immediate person in his circle, you can’t say what he is and isn’t doing.

I’ma be honest with you and let you know that I am so over this RiRi and Chris Brown thing. I am so sick of tired of people casting stones at him like he did it to them, PLEASE get over it!

Even if RiRi provoked him like a lot of us women do, get up all in a man’s face because were pissed, does not give Chris the right to beat her down like he did, I will admit to that. But I’m not passing judgement on Chris because he may really have an anger problem that he needs to get help. He is humiliated just as well as RiRi but it takes two, if she bounced back why can’t he???

All I’m saying is we don’t know the truth only they do, and Chris most likely apologized for the situation that he put them both in. I strongly believe that RiRi provoked him by pushing, slapping, and name-calling. I’m a licensed Private I and the signs are all there. What made him put his hands on her from the get go? There had to be some in my face action from RiRi for this to happen. Now once again he is wrong but I know that I have been very aggressive in past relationships, that led me to punch, scream, and push all on my man because I was angry. And then again I was once beaten before and left to die, so I can relate to both.

All I’m saying is let’s stop with Chris is a monster, he deserves jail time, and let the court system take care of this, where not a Judge nor God, so one who don’t like to be judge, can’t or should not judge!

Ok it’s time for Topher Chriswell to weigh in on this situation! First of all, I’m sick of it like you said in that one video! Second of all, I really don’t think Chris Brown is at all remorseful for what he did. If he is, he would have made an apologetic statement a long time ago. I think that he probably feels he was justified in doing what he did for whatever sick reason. Bottomline, Chris Brown disgusts me. The fact that he made a youtube video promoting his upcoming album before he acclaimed he wasn’t a “monster” is a hideous characteristic trait on his part! It shows he’s selfish and inconsiderate. He should have acknowledged why he felt he was being called a “monster” and made some kind of attempt to apologize. But here he is, 4 months later, joking around with Lil ‘homophobic” Bow Wow like everything is hotsy totsy! Well, Mr. Brown, everything isn’t peaches and cream and rainbows (no pun intended with the Bow Wow thing)! Get yourself together and show some respect and some kind of remorse for what you put a beautiful woman through! The story is Rihanna came out looking like some body hit her face and body with a bag of nickels and Chris Brown acted like nothing happened. That is what the police report says right? Is he a monster? that isn’t for me to judge that is what counseling is for… to see what made him tick and how to control it next time so that he can truly confirm that he is sorry and that he is willing to move on in his life…Hopefully WITHOUT Rihanna. Chris affected a lot of people because he is FAMOUS… that’s it. While it is true that many “Normal” people experience this same incident everyday… Chris is a teenager…the case is very public and so were the pictures, since he’s a role model (Mind you teenage girls are at the all time high for abuse from their boyfriends) counseling is great and a good public apology and a “I’m going to show you how much I want to change” thing is great.

So I see it both ways…Forgive him… Hmmm… but what has he done to shown he wants to be forgiven? Hide out for about 3ish months…then come out on a video and say..I’m not a monster?

Did he take time to seek counseling and then apologize?

People make mistakes and fall, but its how you get up and dust yourself off and in the public eye… He still has a lot of DUST/BLOOD on his hands that needs counseling…to be forgiven.

I agree with B Scott. Chris hasn’t even issued an apology for his actions. People sitting here saying, “what he did was a mistake”. Here’s a question for y’all, if a man whooped your mom/sister’s ass like there was no tomorrow, would you forgive the man and say what he did was a “mistake”? I have no reason to forgive Chris because what he did has nothing to do with me. I don’t blame him for his mistakes, but I do ask that he pays for them.

I had decided to stay silent on this but after reading your comments and some of the comments above I can’t. Your whole notion that Chris needs to issue an apology… he did… it just wasn’t the one you, the media, or anyone else wanted. I think everyone wanted to see him standing before a podium with tears running down his face begging and pleading to them to forgive him and his wrongdoings. They wanted him to say Rihanna’s name [regardless to how much they care or don't care for her] and beg and tell her that is he sorry over and over again. That he will keep his hands to himself and never do her wrong again. They wanted to see a broken man on their television screens so they could and would have something more to talk about. They didn’t get that so automatically they disregard the apolgy given and run with this he’s unremorseful crap.

And as far as him needing anf getting help… how do you know he hasn’t been going just that? Chris has been out of the public eye since this whole ordeal went down…. how do you know what he’s doing in Tappa when no cameras are around? You or anyone else don’t… You say he needs help… how much help are you offering? None… instead you are sitting behind your computer screen with your holier than thou attitude calling him names [the Ike Jr tag is wrong on so many levels]. You have your preconceived notions as to who you think Chris is and it’s wrong. You are quick to label him monster and use just the right words to further down him and make your labels on him stick and you should stop. I read some of your tweets about Chris and Bow Wow at the game and you should stop for just one moment and realize you are just as bad as the next person who goes on sites and blogs downing you for your sexual choices. No one likes labels put on them… you especially should know this.

As for his video proclaiming him not to be a monster… I agree with him. He’s simply a young man who made a wrong choice along the way. Do I think what Chris did was wrong? HELL YES!!!! Should all that he’s done and accomplished thus far and hope to accomplish be tainted by that night? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! We’ve all been in situations where we are faced with making a decision and sometimes we don’t always make the right choice. I know I have many a regret over a choice I made some 15+ years ago because now in retrospect I should have made a different one. On February 8th he made the wrong choice. To try and forever make him this monster dreamed up in y’all heads is just as wrong as the decision he made. We live in a world full of wrong choices and not thought out decisions… growing and learning through these wrong choices and decisions helps to make you the person you are meant to be.

Alot of y’all are going on and on as if the damage and abuse from that had happened to you. It didn’t… you are not Rihanna… and you need to stop projecting the past wrongs done to you on Chris in hopes that someone pays. We live in a imperfect world and yes everyone should face and receive justice for the wrongs done to them but heaping them on Chris all in the notion that someone pays is wrong. True story… I have a friend who is/was abusive to her now husband… she threw and burned him with hot chilli… she broke his wrist… continually hits him whenever the mood strikes her… the police is/was called each time… do you know what sentence or how much jail time she gotten to this date….. NONE. Where are the calls for her to be called monster… why is no one damanding she stay gone for a year and a half so her past wrongdoings can be forgotten… there are none and just because Chris’ name is more popular than hers does not mean he deserves these calls and she does not.

You mentioned Oprah’s quote that “Love doesn’t hurt…” yes it doesnt but let me tell you it ain’t always rainbows and sunshine either…

does anyone here know if he’s remorseful and has repented? do you see him everyday? is he your buddy? do you know if they have spoken about the incident since? do you know if she also used a blunt object or not during the fight? do you know what she’s thinking? what she’s feeling? I think it’s sad and sick that both of the people that commented before me are choosing to forget what is important in this situation. If you can put yourself in Rihanna’s situation for a second and then again, it was not helpful that she semi went back to him afterward but when you think about whatever transpired that night and think that Chris Brown put his hands on her multiple times and practically beat her unconscious. THIS WAS NOT A SIMPLE SLAP IN THE FACE! Her beaten picture is proof as well as her testimony in the police report. SHE WAS HIT REPEATEDLY WITH BLUNT FORCE IN ORDER TO INFLICT PHYSICAL PAIN!!! Had he simply slapped her out of reflex it would be different but he seriously beat the crap out of her…She did not fight back specifically. Even though he’s a “man” and would not have admitted to it had it been stated that they were hitting eachother and were mutually abusive to one another it would be different. anyway, you have to see that this was not a mutually hitting eachother fight, he beat her and took full advantage of the moment. And as far as has been said, he had a history of being abusive whether in the physical or emotional sense, he was an abuser, period end of story. That should not make it ok to not take responsibility for your actions. He has not been a man about his actions. He PLEAD NOT GUILTY!!!!OH MY GOD, WHY WOULD YOU SIT THERE AND LIE IN THE FACE OF GOD AND SAY YOU WERE NOT GUILTY OF A CRIME YOU COMMITED!!!!THE PROOF IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THERE…I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT WITH THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF RIHANNA POSSIBLY TESTIFYING AND FOR SURE BEING PRESENT IN THE COURTROOM TODAY , WILL HOPEFULLY MAKE SOME DIFFERENCE AND JAILTIME IS SERVED. I think we only feel this way because they’re famous. This could be happening to your neighbour and you wont know or all you say is that its unfortunate or something. Chris Brown did apologize after the beating and he said he was willing to get counseling. It only takes a man once to know that what he is doing is wrong and I know that we all know that Chris Brown knows not to do that anymore. Sure the black eye video was wrong because he is kinda saying that he’s the tougher one, he didn’t get beaten, he did the beating. That’s not cool. I’m sorry B. Bow Wow was live on a live chat with Chris and sommebody must have recorded this. Bow Wow and Chris been best friends. Chris was even on that BET show Bow Wow and Omarion had. So that is nothing new.

I think it’s ridiculous the way Chris is being treated. It’s like everyone hates him. I understand; never is it okay to beat a female regaurdless of what she may have done. He deserve to be in jail. But their is no need to hold this grudge against Chris. He is a human being. If God can forgive him why can’t we?

I don’t think Chris made a mistake he knew what he was doing when he hit her. And it dosen’t matter what Rihanna did. Chris is wrong. He IT HER. Thats enough of information.

I’m glad riri is fine now and she’s back on her game, and I’m glad chris brown is getting back to his music, but it would have been nice if he just said, “I’m sorry for what happened and the circumstances etc etc”.
