May 27, 2009 Corporate Conspiracy – AT&T Anti-Adam Lambert?

The nation’s second-largest wireless carrier, AT&T, is being looked closely at in a possible plot against openly-gay Idol runner up, Adam Lambert. Lambert, widely expected to become the next and first openly-gay Idol, lost the competition to Kris Allen in what was a shock to anyone who followed the hugely popular show. The potential culprit: employees at AT&T at two AT&T-sponsored Idol parties in Kris Allen’s home state of Arkansas. Since the final count of text message votes is kept a secret, there is no way of telling the impact the votes cast at the parties had.
Love muffins, this is one of those scenarios that makes you go, “hmmmmm.” Telecommunications giant AT&T is based in Texas, and is rumored to have given major funds to the Republican Party during the last election, which, as we all know, isn’t exactly the most liberal of parties; and more than likely isn’t 100% behind anything gay.
Thoughts?

What those employees did wasn’t news. It was used during last years AI, and it was covered on all the major contestants fan sites. I was online talking to Adam fans that had gotten over 10k votes in for Adam per phone they were using. Some were using multiple family members phones to send in texts. There were many howto’s up on how to get the most in for whoever you were voting for. Some people even went so far as writing applications for windows mobile phones and iphones to automate it.

I am looking at my current AT&T phone really funny now. This is not a good look for AT&T right now!

Can’t say that I’m surprised the capers people will pull off when they fear what they do not understand. I look forward to hearing what AI has to say about this revelation. I’m sure it will not be as riveting as we would like. Keep us posted, B.

AT&T is wrong for this mess…. I KNEW it was something fishy when Ryan Secrest said “record breaking votes” …..anytime you have someone DIFFERENT in the eyes of some ignorant asses such as the gimps at AT&T ..there shall be some trumfoolery.
I guess they were like “its enough we got a black/mixed president we dont need THAT much change” ….
That goes to show you if you’re an “outsider” you HAVE to work harder, jump higher, run faster & be better all together. Just my Opinion!

im a gay republican living in texas, and its ignorant and childish of you to go on a witchhunt because he didn’t win. the entire company of at&t doesn’t “hate” Adam Lambert. Let it go, and grow up.

lol, conspiracy theory, really? I respect your opinion B., but if AT&T/FOX were on such an anti-gay rampage, Adam would have left the show LONG before the finale. I think people genuinely preferred Kris’ style of music as opposed to Adam’s. They’re both going to go on to amazing careers, let it go.

I guess the gay community has “the man” conspiracies now, like black people use to complain about not getting breaks in society. It’s just American Idol. Adam has gotten his name and face out enough to have a spectacular career. If his is the next Clay Aiken with better sells than Rubin, then so be it. But I have to agree w/ the previous commenter….I WAS NOT A FAN OF ADAM! Too much drama for just singing and it not being a musical play….sorry

YOUR ACCUSATIONS HAVE NO SUBSTANCE B.scott, CUZ ADAM WAS NEVER ”OPENLY GAY”…IN ACTUALITY HE NEVER CONFIRMED NOR DENIED BEING GAY, SO STOP WITH YOUR CONSPIRACY THEORIES ALREADY!!!!!!!!

I think there was some kind of conspiracy that Adam didn’t win, not including the sexuality part when I first thought of it though. All I know is that Adam was a shoe in to win and he was cheated, just like Tamira Grey, Ms. Hudson (even though she did make all on her own), Chris Doughtry, just to name a few!

The only conspiracy is the mentality that someone is a shoe-in to win the damn thing. He wasn’t cheated, neither was Tamyra, Jennifer, nor Chris. The American Idol audience either became too complacent or genuinely wanted them gone.
