May 22, 2009 New Movie Review: Terminator Salvation

terminator-salvation

I got the chance to see the latest installment in the Terminator series. Terminator Salvation has so much action, you won’t have much time to catch your breath. Let me tell you, there is some serious eye candy. Sam Worthington- take me right now! Sam plays Marcus Wright who signs a contract for his body parts to be used for what he thinks is a good cause (he’s on death row without much use for them). He kicks major booty! Christian Bale (John Connor) really comes alive in this film compared to his more subdued tone in last year’s The Dark Knight. Director McG (Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle) really brings everything together – I love his directing style. Oh – there’s a secret cameo by someone very integral to the whole Terminator series. I’ll let you figure out who it is when you see it.

The film is now in theatres – go see it.

For those love muffins who have already seen it – thoughts?

  • I loved it B! Too early for me to break it down but your summation was on point, action, heart and non-gratuitous eye candy. Bale was on point and completly believable and Worthington was extremely worthy. I am going to have to give you major Kudos for pointing out McG’s directing style because until I saw his screen credit at the top of the film.. I didn’t know he was directing… at that point I wondered can he handle this?? and man oh me oh my he smacked it up, flipped it and rubbed it down… his directing was all i expected it to be and more. Yeah it was awesome! I have to agree with you 100 purrrr cent! xoxo

  • LOVED it! Good action thriller for the summer!

  • Mmmm I love me some Sam Worthington too. I think I’ll make an ode to him on my site lol

  • I loved it. I thought it did justice to the series, and I now cannot wait for the following films.

  • Hey B,

I thought the film brought no new information or plot development in the series. The acting seemed corny in the beginning but picked up after. The cinematography was cool but to be honest i am getting tired of the same CGI saturated movies with no character development or storyline.

  • I saw it with my son…we are movie nuts..lol! Great movie…BUT we both expected more…only because the previews amped us up so much…but yeah it wasn’t a waste of money though.

  • the best part of Terminator Salvation had to be the visual effect (big surprise), the detail was pretty amazing
