May 15, 2009 ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Finale!

Love muffins, this was an amazing ending to season five of Grey’s Anatomy. If you haven’t watched any of the season, this was one episode that you did not need to miss…take me higher, Lord! I will give you a quick synopsis of the season finale after the jump.
Following the successful removal of her tumor, Izzie flatlined at the very last minute after regaining her memory. O’Malley was run over by a bus after saving some rude person’s life (no one knew who John Doe was until they realized O’Malley didn’t show up for work). Remember a couple of seasons back when Meredith drowned and was dead for like two episodes, and how she saw her mother on the other side? Well, Izzie and O’Malley had the same experience.
McDreamy and Meredith exchanged vows in the locker room. Yang told her boyfriend that she loved him, even hugging Meredith before exchanging vows. McSteamy is looking for a house to show Lexie that he’s moving on and can find someone better than her. Miranda’s husband threatened to leave her if she took on the scholarship position. Torres was mad that her lover couldn’t understand her reasoning behind wanting O’Malley to stay instead of joining the military and going to Iraq. Right now, it doesn’t look good for O’Malley. I can’t take this right now!
Thoughts?

I have been a Grey’s fan since season one and I have not yet missed an episode! I have not seen as much drama as this since the season finale I think in season 3 when Denny dies and Meredith has to chose between the vet and Shepherd. I will be extremely upset if we lose both characters. Katherine Heigle really makes the show and it wouldn’t be the same with out her. I can’t believe that we have to wait 4 months to find out what is going to happen! When George wrote 007 in Meredith’s hand I was in shock! The writer’s did a great job with this one!

It’s pretty safe to say that they are both dead. Those two actors have been talking about leaving for 2 seasons and they announced for sure at the beginning of this season. So there would be no sense in either/both of them surviving. I mean the whole reason I watched this finale was to see how Izzie was going to die and find out where the hell George was going b/c up until now they hadn’t made any mention of him going anywhere on the show. And I think they did a GREAT job with that task and this season finale.

I balled last night! Shounda Rhimes and her band of merry men are complete GENIUSES…Last nights finale showed why this particular “Doctor show” is quite different then any other “doctor” show like E.R which it sometimes gets compared to. Everyone around the world was crying while watching it, Celebs included as proven via some celeb’s twitter pages!! I loved it, I didn’t know over half the world watched this show until last night and was in awe! The season ended beautifully! Now we just have to wait another 4 months! CRAPPERS!

I thought it was a good episode too. I wasn’t surprised at either Izzie or O’Malley departure because I’d heard rumors that both wanted to leave the show. I was surprised at O’Malley’s story though. When he joined the army, I just thought that was it and that maybe they were leaving an opening for him to return one season. Then, I realized like 3 seconds before Meredith that “John Doe” was O’Malley and I was like “What?” I was shocked that they’d kill off 2 characters. It was so touching to see how far Alex has come and to see how much he loves Izzie. Alex used to be a jerk and to see him crying over Izzie like that was like “Aww!”. I was annoyed that Grey & McDreamy didn’t get married officially yet again this season. Something happens to them every season that either prevents them from marrying or prevents them from being together. I guess as long as they didn’t break up this time. Hopefully, the beginning of next season they don’t break up over the deaths of Izzie & O’Malley. Being that Derek did Izzie’s surgery and this would be another death on his record (we all saw how he took his “death” rate last time with being depressed and pushing Meredith away). Next season opening is gonna be a must see to find out what the show does.

i knew that it was George in that hospital bed because you couldnt find him no where and everyone was talking about him so i figured that was him i dont know what is gonna happen to izzie and george because i think that they want to leave the show about time that meredith and mcdreamy do something right towards their relationship overrall it was a great season finale.

oh. my. GOD!!! I had a conniption, an aneurism, a heart attack, a panic attack, i nearly peed on myself and ended up in the FETAL POSITION near TEARS after this episode!!!! I nearly passed out!! EVERYone needs to watch it. My theory is though, that george died. I’m not sure that Izzie died. I don’t think she did. I feel like next season is going to open up with George and Iz in the ‘hospital’ aka where all the dead people on the show end up, and they’re gonna have a long talk, and George is going to try to convince Izzie not to stay. Izzie is probably going to cry at first when she realizes john doe is 007. I will NOT stand for them BOTH dying… in the SAME DAMN EPISODE. It hurts too much. This was by far the best season finale since season 2 though. Point blank.

Last week after Izzy and Alex got married instead of Merideth and Derek, I thought they did the right thing b/c that wedding was so not M & D’s style. I predicted they’d get married in the finale at the hospital, but I was hoping they’d hire a minister or someone to make it official. So now they’re “pretend” married and who knows if they’ll ever have time to do the real thing. I also believed the rumors early on that Izzie and George were going to leave the show, so I figured that Izzie would die, but I thought George was going to end up going to war, never to be heard from again. SO SAD that he was the one who got hit by the bus! And Miranda has been trying to keep her marriage together but if her husband can’t support her and her career, they shouldn’t be married:o( He knew he was marrying a surgeon for goodness sakes, not a physician’s assistant! Give me a break!

I love it and can’t wait for the new season to begin. Once we realized that the stranger who stepped in front of bus was George I was like OMG..he was so unidentifiable. Then with the ending the way it was with him and Izzie..I hope he lives but won’t be suprised if he “moves on”. Or will it be Izzie who moves on? I hope not both.
I’m kind of bored with the Torres/Arizona rrelationship. Arizona just doesn’t seem like she’d be Torres’ type of girl.
I love Miranda. whenever she cries it seems odd to me (so unlike the Nazi) but it’s human.
Christina and Hunt?? I’m still not sure about them. But Christina deserves to be happy and what progress she’s made after Dr Burke. Speaking of progress Mer is so freakin happy it’s almost contagious. I think it’s funny that her and Derek have tried to get married twice now..but I like how they ended up doing it.
Great show..I heart Greys

Well where do I begin. I love Grey’s Anatomy. From season one episode one I have not missed a beat. This show has some of the best writers!!! I love the narration and all the of the cast. This season finale made me cry for like an hour after it aired. I love Stevens and O’Malley sooooooooo much. My boo and my friends always tell me its just a show, but this is the only show I watch and I LOVE it. I do not want Izzie to go, but I had to face that she probably will not be returning. One thing I cannot handle is both George and Izzie gone. Their friendship has grown so much over the years. From him taking up for her when Alex posted those pictures of her in the locker room, to George helping Izzie walk down the aisle on her unexpected wedding date. I love them together. One without the other is not possible. Next season needs to hurry……..
