May 11, 2009 New Music: Jordin Sparks – Battlefield

The fabulous Jordin Sparks is ready to release her sophomore album this July. “Battlefield” is set to be the lead single off of this latest, yet-to-be-titled project, produced by super-talented Ryan Tedder. The song is a contemporary pop ballad that’s full of emotion, really showcasing Jordin’s powerhouse vocals. Tedder did an amazing job with the production, and of course the beat is laced with his signature sound — think Beyonce’s “Halo” and Kelly Clarkson’s “Already Gone.” With proper promotion, this song should do very well. Jordin Sparks finally makes a decent song. And she’s singing, not whispering or doing the “echo” chamber bullshit. It does sound like “halo” which is beyonce’s WORST elevator sounding bullshit. But this is sung better and cooler than HALO.

She did that! I think she has major potential to be a FORCE to be RECKONED with on the music scene… just give her the right people and connections and WATCH OUT! Keep doing what you do Jordan!

She should go the RnB route so she can actually showcase her vocals and stop doing this Pop BS. That’s what Timberlake did after Nsync. If she did songs more on the RnB side, more artists would be inclined to want to do duets with her.
