I am not gay….But B.Scott …you better preach…Discrimination in any form gay/straight/black/white/brown/or blue/short/tall/Disabled/or not Disabled is…not only wrong but it is childish…Sexual Discrimination goes back to the kindergarten days when boys think that girls have cooties… and that, people, is so stupid. so to Everybody here, I want to say that we all have to take it upon ourselves educate the next generation as treat words like faggot,and other like minded expletives…as curse words. I don’t let my neighborhood’s kids use words like those around me. I tell them, that words like that can hurt people,then I tell them that if I hear it again, I will tell their parents(most of the time it works…unless the parents are themselves Super homophobic in which case Realistically I can’t do too much about that.)..and My hope is, that one day this type of discrimination will not be Normal….or commonplace in the Black community..

Tell your truth B. Scott. That was real talk. But flip side. I have met co workers and such who try to test other males. One even accused another guy of being gay, for being willing to be his friend. And unfortunately you see a lot of gays and people on blogs trying to out others and tell others’ business. But it is true that when the day comes that there is less of a stigma people may not have to hide and others may not have to accuse. I dont think more stars coming out will do lick of good for gays, but common sense, courtesy and respect goes a long way for anybody.

I agree 100% with this video…

there is such a large amount of discrimination against everyone right now…

i can’t go on a youtube video without seeing discrimination against blacks, whites, hispanics, gays etc. Everyone seems to judge each other non-stop.

It’s good to know that someone shares the same view as me..it doesn’t matter what color you are or what sexual orientation you are, we’re all people!!!!!

stars coming will not be for the gays per say, but for little boys who cannot identify with someone. thats what B was saying. I can’t see why it would help a little, esp Black ones.

Not to long ago, some kids (esp of color), they were afraid to admit playing golf or tennis, until Tiger Woods or Serena got successful. it was seen as “trying to be White” that dumb stuff.

most people anti-gay already seem to accept a lot of things originated in gay culture, sadly just not the people.

@ Pink Elepant: shouldnt it start with men in the neighborhoods, speaking up and being honest. It won’t start with the rich and famous.. More regular gay guys need to live their truth and be bold in their churches, homes, neighborhoods. Start yall own civil rights movement. I cannot stand bow wow. Never did like him, NEVER. He is a pathetic excuse for a toddler. He has such a midget complex, and is probably mad at himself because he has not grown this year, in addition to his sales. And, bow wow is trying to go hard at gay people what for? To prove that he is not. That twirp Cant come up with something more creative. That obviously is the case, and it shows in you lackluster verses.

How you gonna look look like a man in the face and a 5 year old in pants size, because you know that “tiny syndrome”, go all over his body, and up to his brain. The reason why he went with Ciara is because he was trying to “feel like a man” and he broke up with her because deep down inside he knew he could never achieve that height of success she has in physical growth, or in the music industry.

@Curvaceous You are right, everyone is not like B. Scott. But I recall the gay community being diverse. I lived in a community where football players and truckers, were open couples and the best neighbors I had as a child. Ironically women would hit on them, while they were together because they “didn’t look like B Scott.”

this is 2009 and its still an issue because its still an issue. who cares.

its a cop out to not acknowledge the affinity for denial of a lot of things in the Black community. I bet if a batch of, high profile men, came out, it would be less of a shock for people, for anyone else down the line. i mean, on the Real World we almost expect a gay cast member. But the first show, it was like OMG.

I don’t think you realize how influential a Jay-Z is, in magnitude or something to say, be cool on that. You don’t have to be gay to say that, yes there are power in numbers but, you can’t deny, people listen to famous people (rappers, athletes, actors,etc) about a lot of things.

This is the truth, because no matter what bible scripture you quote, I’m gonna tell you that the great commandment, the last thing Jesus said on this earth was “Love ye one another as you Love yourselves”. How are you going to go back and try and get something that Moses said when Jesus is standing right in front of you telling you what to do? These anit gay marriage protest in DC? I’m so ashamed that our community, the black community, condones this God awful shameful hate mongering. If it was the Klan protesting mixed race marriages, everyone would be up in arms. How is this any different? I’m sorry, but we need to LOVE first, because that’s all God asks of us. We don’t need to judge, because none of us have the moral authority to. So the gay community needs to start instead of waiting for a handful of famous people. True the famous should stop the hate and fronting. I totally agree with B Scott on that, but they dont affect the kind of change that truth and role models do right at home. Im straight but, i think Gay people are the coolest people you can meet! My bestfriend’s brother is gay and he is sooo funny! && he’s prettier than most of the girls i go to school with.
