April 29, 2009 Verizon iPhone Rumors Galore

For all my techie love muffins out there, as you may or may not have heard, the latest rumor is that Apple and Verizon are in heated talks to bring iPhone to the nation’s largest carrier next year. Apple’s exclusive deal with AT&T is supposedly set to expire in 2010, possibly giving the Cupertino-based company more room to spread its wings into the American market.

Continue after the jump.

Verizon has publicly stated that their 4G, or LTE (Long Term Evolution) network will be commercially available next year – this rumor really isn’t that far-fetched considering Verizon’s iPhone is said to be LTE-based. LTE will be the global standard for wireless 4G networks – allowing for significant increases in data speeds over 3G networks in place today. AT&T has announced that LTE will be next in their evolutionary data path, but really haven’t been specific about when it will be commercially available.

While it’s still unclear when AT&T’s exclusive will expire, another rumor is some sort of Apple and Verizon netbook/tablet/book reader next year. This makes sense considering it wouldn’t interfere with AT&T’s exclusive, giving Verizon a chance to run a coveted Apple product.

Thoughts? Are my love muffins eager to try an iPhone running on Verizon’s network? iPhone love muffins: what are your thoughts about AT&T?
