Yesterday Bow Wow held a live video chat where he answered questions from the few fans he has left. During the chat Bow Wow revealed how uncomfortable he gets around gays. He talked about a time where he needed a haircut and had his people go and find him a barber. But after noticing the barber was gay he told them that he didn’t want the haircut anymore. He said he didn’t want a gay barber touching his head. I’m guessing either the top of his dome is his hot spot or he seems to think homosexuality is contagious. Isn’t it funny that a guy who twirled his neck like a hurricane and flinched his wrist around like it just suffered a stroke during a special with Omarion (you know, that masculine guy) is saying that he’s homophobic? Of all people you would think a child star would be more accepting of people. Note to Bow Wow: 12-year-olds don’t like you anymore and their older sisters never cared about you. 70% of the people who bought your album last week were probably gay. Below is what actually happened during the live chat according to the the person who asked him “Are you homophobic” that sparked his homophobic remarks.
Okay..this is TheIntriguing1 from Twitter.
Yes, I was in Bow Wow’s chat that night. Someone posted an update on Twitter saying that he was doing a live video chat and that he was at Jermaine Dupri’s house with B.Cox, Jermaine Dupri, etc. I’m not into Bow Wow at all, but I was curious to see what they were all doing on the video chat.
So I clicked on the link to see. Jermaine Dupri and some guy was playing video games while Bow Wow was talking to them. Then Bow Wow and his friend Anthony walked into another room that no one was in and sat down and started chatting about random things. Then Bow decided to start answering some questions that he saw some of the fans asking in the chatroom.
Someone asked Bow was he into lesbians. He said he was, but he said he’s only into the feminine ones, not the tomboyish ones who look like boys. He went on for about an entire minute about how much he disliked tomboyish lesbians. He said that tomboyish girls liking girls is cool, but he doesn’t like them. I’m a tomboyish lesbian myself, but I took no offense to it at all because I wouldn’t expect many straight guys to be into non-feminine lesbians anyway.
I’m used to hearing people all the time calling Bow Wow gay and saying that he’s on the DL. Then a rumor came out recently that he supposedly was messing with some tranny. Even though I’m always hearing that about him, I’ve never too much believed it. So I took it upon myself to ask him a direct question. I asked him if he was homophobic. There were a lot of people in the chatroom that night, so he obviously didn’t see the question when I first asked it. So about a minute later, I asked him the question again. He finally saw it, then he addressed it.
Before he answered it, he asked Anthony was he homophobic. Anthony said, “To a certain extent”. Then Bow said something about gay guys should have respect for straight guys as himself, then he brought up some story about how he was on a plane recently, and the flight attendant was a gay guy. He repeated something that the flight attendant said that was very funny to him (I can’t remember exactly what it was). I actually didn’t pay much attention to that part because it was irrelevant to my question.
Then he said, “I don’t care what any of y’all think, but I’ma tell y’all about this one time when I needed a haircut. I needed a haircut real bad, and I had on a fitted to cover up my hair. I needed to find a barber quickly. When my people finally found me a barber at the last minute to cut my hair…when I saw him, I saw that he was gay. I didn’t even want the haircut no more, so I put my fitted back on, and it wasn’t even matching what I was wearing, but I didn’t even care. I can’t let no gay barber cut my hair because he gotta touch all on my head and shit, and I ain’t havin’ that.” (Some of the words I just typed aren’t the ‘exact’ words he said, but very similar to what he said. I can’t remember every single thing he said word-for-word).
I couldn’t believe he had said that. That was definitely a homophobic comment. So then I asked him, “If one of your gay male fans came up to you and asked you for an autograph or to take a picture with him, would you?”
He didn’t answer the question. So of course I assumed he didn’t see it. So I asked him again. He still didn’t answer. So I asked him once more. He STILL didn’t answer it. So then I said, “I think you’re ignoring my question. I’m about to go tell all the bloggers about the homophobic comment you just made.” I said that to see if that would grab his attention and make him answer me. I still got no response to him. So I repeated the bloggers comment once again. Still no response.
So then I told him once again that I’m definitely about to go let everyone know that you are definitely homophobic. Only a homophobic person would say something like you did. Right after I said that, he suddenly blocked me from the chatroom. That right there let me know that he saw everything I was asking him and saying to him, but he wouldn’t respond. So he must didn’t want to let everyone know that he is not willing to give a conspicuous gay fan an autograph or take a photo with them. He actually has many gay fans, and this is how he thinks of them..smh. His career is basically over anyway, so this right here is just gonna put the nail in the coffin. I wonder how cocky he’s going to continue to act now. He can’t even attempt to retract his statement and actions..even though I think he’s going to attempt to respond and water it all down. That’s what I’m waiting to see.

LOL This reminds me so much of an interview 50 cent gave to Playboy magazine back in 2003…where he went on record for saying “I aint comfortable around faggots…i can’t trust their thought process” it was such a crass, repugnant statement that the editor of playboy issued a blurb behind that interview reminding readers that playboy has ALWAYS fostered an atmosphere of tolerance and respect for diversity.
Bow Wow needs to give it up. he’s no longer relevant and pretty soon, the only way he’ll be able to make money is by doing GAY PORN (while claiming to be straight of course) LOL!

I think you are wrong. You could’ve used that as a moment to preach tolerance or what not but instead you got disrespectful and he wasn’t saying anything negative about gays B. I am dissappointed in this video, not in you because I KNOW that you are better than that. Bscott you and no one commenting against Bow Wow saw or heard it . I was in the live chat and that was one of TWO stories he told. He used the story to show his young ignorance which is TOO common in the black and def hip hop community. He was uncomfortable with his head massaged by a man who was flamboyant, there was no “top of his head” conversation. Calling him GAY does not help if everyone laughs at you calling him that. You just make gay look llike an insult. I don’t understand why you would do that.
I don’t want to be at a strip club, do I hate strippers no,that’s just not my scene. He did no diss gay people. He said himself MANY in his industry are gay. His label behind the scenes has gay men and women. He just didn’t want to be caressed by a gay man. How is that not understandable? It was an isolated event and one of TWO stories he told about gay encounters that night after 3 hours of chatting with fans about whatever they wanted. From that humbling chat a blogget took a quote and misquoted it and made a great experience for many something with this added negative “homophobic” connotation.

Let me set this straight cause this is just stupid now. I watched that broadcasting of bow wow that day. He was on live for about 3 or 4 hours interacting with the fans. I commend bow for that not many celebrities put aside time like that to vibe with the fans. Anyway bow wow said before and after that several times that he did not have a problem with gays. Several times before he even got to that little story he said he didnt have a problem with gays and there is nothing wrong wit that man perferring on kind of barber over the other. He likes what he likes just like gays like what they like. I know I am not homophobic at all but i wouldnt want no gay female woman doctor doing my breast exams its the same thing. Besides Bow made it very clear when a fan asked him straight out do he have a problem with gay people he said No! In fact while they talking about the barber story he told how come no one mentioned the one about the gay man on the plane? The media kills me taking that garbage and not only running with it but twisting it and messing with that mans album sales get the hell over yourselves. Nothing agaisnt you B scott u just got the story wrong.

Althoug what B said is funny… I dont think it really addressed why the comment is an issue. Bow wow stated that he didnt want a gay man touching his head as if a gay man woudn’t behave like any other professional barber. He essentially took gays and made them sexually deviants who are attracted to everyone and unable to controll there sexual appetite a sentiment that is constantly echoed by homphobs. If it had been an unattractive heterosexual female that he wouldn’t have been interested in I’m sure he wouldn’t have made the same statements. Or acting as if its contagious and he will turn gay by assoicaition and the most common trying to protect or exude what they think is masculinity even constatnly in his video stating that he is a man like because someone is gay they aren’t it’s so many points to this and why it may have offend the gay community, which will no doubtly fall on deaf ears if they are as ignorant and sterotypical in their views as Bow wow

I hear a bunch of people saying he was just a kid when it happened and B shouldnt have taken it so hard but truth is he obviously didnt feel bad about it if hes so willing to say how he felt about it. I think if b scott saw any sense of guilt from his comment he wouldnt have even made that big a deal about it… Even if it did happen when he is a child it doesnt matter…Ignorant disrespectful children very often become Ignorant disrespectful adults… and lets be honest rappers and the general hip hop community dont cater to any homosexuality except bi-sexual or lesbian women so this is no surprise. Bow Wow doesn’t know how to block from his chat only DJ jus does and he was in another state. Bow Wow said he didn’t discriminate against gays and someone in chat wrote something about “Faggots” and Bow said how he would “never say the “f” word” . THe informer suspiciously left that out.
I’ve seen Bow wow talk to and take pics with all kinds of fans. There is an overly excited gay boy that sees Bow Wow at 106 & Park and Bow Wow is nice to him. My friend is very butch (as is Da Brat) and he talked to her and took her picture so to say he ignored your question and said that is false. As you said you’re not a Bow Wow fan and your comments seem biased against him. Very objective story.

The crazy thing is that the whole controversy is just plain stupid. Who gives a rat ass on who cuts your hair gay or straight? What Bow Wow said was stupid first off, bc he said he “saw” that the barber was gay. I know plenty of men who may have feminine mannerisms but are straight. Newsflash: Not all gay men are effeminate. As a dude who has sit in many a barber chair, I dont really care about the sexuality of my barber. I care or not if you can cut my hair. Period.

He just turned 22. He said it was YEARS ago, citing an album release from years ago. 22-5 or so = child. You obviously weren’t in the chat and trusted the BET blog as fact.

It matters to me rather or not my docotor is a lesbian. It may not matter to you but personally I have a problem with it. True every gay woman in the world is not attracted to every woman she sees and regardless of rather she attracted to me or not I will be uncomfortable. I cant explain why but its a personal thing. I am not saying that I dont feel the same way about straight male doctors but thats what I would prefer. As far as me not being hot I dont see how that pretains to this conversation even though I beg to differ. Bow wow has the right to not want a gay man cutting his hair! Just like you have the right to turn down things. I am just really annoyed that this has turned into such a big thing when most of the people commenting on the statement never even seen the video. I am speaking as someone who saw the video and understands the way bow meant it. As far as bows fanbase believe it or not bow still has a big following. Just like I am allowed to not want a lesbian doing my breast exam i am allowed to voice my opinion and the fact that you decided to respond was a waste of your time and mine because it doesnt change how i feel about it. Just like BScot video means nothing to bow. For the record I have many gay friends both male and female and even with them they understand why I feel the way I feel. So as far as you opinion goes it means nothing to me.

Yes, you have every RIGHT to feel the way you feel, but that doesn’t make how you feel OK. It is never ok, no matter who you are or where you come from, to discriminate against another person. And yes not wanting a person to touch you because of their sexual orientation is discrimination. Who that person is attracted to has absolutely nothing to do with their ability to perform their job effectively and with integrity. I’m not sure if this is the case with you or Bow Wow, but if you all feel that just because person is attracted to your same sex they no ability to control their sexual impulses or that they are even attracted to you is ridiculous and extremely narrow minded. Maybe you should objectively examine the validity of why you feel that way you do.

Celebrities acting up not answering their fans back but they want them to follow them on twitter, buy their Cd’s, and watch their shows. When all in all they’re people too just like others>>everything that happens to regular people can happen to them also they’re not excluded because they’re Celebs. The white & Black thing, Republicans& Democrats and the list goes on.
