March 2, 2009 Box Office: Jonas’ Not Rockin’ Debut

Love muffins, the much-anticipated Jonas Brothers’ big screen, 3-D debut did not have as big a bow at the box office as initially expected. Disney’s Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert was only able to muster up $12.7 million during the three-day frame, putting it way behind labelmate Miley Cyrus’ $31.1 million 3-D debut, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds.
Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes To Jail held on to the number one spot, pulling in $16.5 million for a two-week tally of $64.8. Slumdog Millionaire sang its way into the number three spot with $12.2 million, $115 million domestically. Liam Neeson’s Taken stole itself the fourth spot with $10 million, and, rounding out the top five, He’s Just Not That Into You’s ensemble cast racked up $5.9 million for a total of $78.5 million.
