February 23, 2009 Best and Worst: 2009 Academy Awards
These ladies looked stunning at the Oscars last night! Whether in colors that popped or pale neutral hues, the pursuit of glamour was all about finding what worked best for their skintones and bodies. Freida Pinto (of Slumdog Millionaire) dazzled in the perfect shade of blue, and John Galliano’s design had a Bollywood feel without looking overdone. Anne Hathaway sparkled and accentuated her shape in this sequin fishtail gown by Armani Prive. Natalie Portman was a standout in her ethereal bold pink Rodarte. Taraji P. Henson looked lovely in Roberto Cavalli, with a sweet smile to match.
Others were not quite so elegant. Amanda Seyfried’s giant bow fiasco was not flattering (Valentino). Sophia Loren wore what appeared to be a 16-year-old’s debutante gown. Beyonce (who we love unconditionally) could barely breathe in a House of Dereon dress seemingly constructed from vintage drapes. And Jessica Biel (in Prada) – we can’t see your lovely figure under that excess fabric. Better luck next year!

where is queen latifah, she looked nice and her performance was great also. im surprised you said beyonce looked horrid. she looked a hot azz mess with them curtains on, oopps dress, LOL

I wasn’t too disturbed by bey’s dress. It was hella GHETTO but i’ve seen worse lol. I think her indeniable beauty, flawless understated makeup and bangin body made it seemed less horrid than it could have been. But hey, when your the hottest chick in the game and on top of everything, you can afford a few slip ups every now and then.But the best dressed to me was Anna Hathaway…That dress is GORGEOUS!!

Thank you B. for keeping it R-E-A-L. Everything you said was dead on. Except I think Beyonce’s dress looks more like it was made from a comforter set or a vintage 227 Jackee’ dress.

Love, love love Natalie Portman and Taraji P. Henson’s dresses……………..Uhmmm, Beyonce’s dress is gorgeous, love the design, just needed less gold leaves all over it……..It would have been gorgeous with the golden leaves only on the bottom of the dress…….
