Exclusive 2009 Mercedes Fashion Week Coverage

The Mulleavy sisters keep wowing us with their innovative ways. As the most recent winners of the Swiss Textile Award, they were able to take their experimentation to whole new level. Surely this collection will draw comparisons to the futuristic Balenciaga aesthetic, but they add an element of romanticism. Less dark than their collections of past, they were still able to create beauty out of grotesque inspiration – they had Frankenstein and straitjackets on their minds. The near skimpy hems and hip-high boots were a stunning combo. Perhaps not quite so wearable for the average woman, but what is luxury clothing if not art? At Rodarte, they have enough wisdom to know this better than many of their fellow-newschoolers.

I think those pieces are totally wearable you just have to pick apart the styling. the dress to a night time event with heels. the boots in the day with jeans and a jacket- always a jacket otherwise you will look like a streetwalker!
didnt know you were so into high fashion – im checking “the cut” for pictures of you at the shows in bryant park!
