February 10, 2009 Chris Brown Gets No Love!
Update IV: “I don’t want people to worry. Rihanna is fine and she is doing well,” Clara Brathwaite (her grandmother) tells Barbados’ Daily Nation newspaper.
Update III: Chris Brown has been dropped from his current Milk Mustache ad campaign. They have removed Brown’s ad from bodybymilk.com and released the following statement:
“The Milk Mustache campaign is taking the allegations against Chris Brown very seriously. We are very proud and protective of the image of the Milk Mustache campaign and the responsible message it sends to teens. Mr. Brown’s ad was launched last fall and is scheduled to end this week.”
Update II: Rihanna postponed her Malaysia concert for her Good Girl Gone Bad tour “in light of recent events involving Rihanna,” according to Pineapple Concerts.
Update: Police officers confirm that Rihanna suffered “contusions on both sides of the singer’s face — there is serious swelling and bruising. Her lip is split and her nose bloody,” reports TMZ.

Not even 24 hours after the alleged battery incident of his girlfriend Rihanna, Wringley has yanked the ads featuring Chris Brown until he is proven innocent…or guilty.
“Wrigley is concerned by the serious allegations made against Chris Brown,” a company spokesperson tells Us. “We believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen.
“However, we have made the decision to suspend the current advertising featuring Brown and any related marketing communications until the matter is resolved,” the statement continued. Us
Chris also will not be in the NBA All-Stars event. Rihanna, girl do not back down. Just follow your heart – many women (and men) have been in the same situation where they were a victim of domestic violence. You go forth and continue to live your life to the fullest. Never let a man tear you down! Thoughts?

What I don’t like about situations like this is that the man always has to be the monster. But nobody ever takes into account the fact that he could have been provoked to hit her back in response. Anytime a man and woman have a physical altercation the man is automatically Ike Turner and a monster and a woman beater. But nobody stops to think that maybe she, like many women will do, began attacking him physically in the heat of an argument, forcing him to defend himself. Sure she’s much smaller, but finger nails, scratching, biting, punching can do alot of damage. I’m not condoning what he did, nor the fact that he hit her back. However, I just don’t like how the man is always automatically the criminal in these situations. There are a great deal of women who know that men have been raised with the belief “never hit a woman”. And they abuse that. There are women who will physically attack men and think that the man should not hit them back, and should just stand there and take it. Sometimes theres only so much a person can take before they’re pushed to respond. It bothers me that nobody seems willing to say perhaps he was provoked into defending himself. She could have had a knife, a bottle, she could have been attacking him wildly. Instead it’s painted as if he just decided one day to beat the shit out of her. And that irks me.
Even as a woman myself I have been in incidents where I have put my hands on a man physically and thought to myself that I could hit him as much as I wanted because “oh he’s to hit me back”. And it’s not until afterward that I realize that if he had hit me back I would have been hurt. And that it takes self-control for men to sit back and allow a woman to hit them repeatedly just because of conditioning. Sometimes in the head of the moment, a person can lose control of that conditioning and just respond defensively.
I feel sorry for both of them, because they’re so young, and they seemed so in love. I feel sorry for her because she had to suffer, but at the same time I feel sorry for him because he will be painted out to be a monster, because no one will give him the benefit of a doubt.
Neither one of them is right. He is DEFINITELY wrong for putting his hands on her. But nobody knows the story that led up to this.

I agree with you B, but some people have said that she provoked the whole situation. Although, she might have that still does not give him a free card to hit her. That speaks the character of a man when he hits on a female, and quite frankly, I am extremely appalled by his actions. I almost wanted to delete all of his songs from my itunes, but then I realized I paid for them (well some of them) lol. In the same breath I heard that he was beaten as a child by an abusive father or step-father which makes sense, but even so its still no excuse it hit a woman.
For Rihanna, I hope that she moves forward and presses charges. I’ve heard that she dropped the charges against Chris. I really hope that is not true because so many women who are battered every day in this country never really speak out because they are afraid of the stigmas that come with it. By her speaking out against Chris and moving forward with the charges it can enable women across the country and the world to do the same about their batters.

Wow! i tried to keep an open mind with my last comments stating that lets not automatically assume mister brown was the viloent assalant because we don’t know what really happen…but its not looking good for him thats horrible and i encourage RiRi to keep her head and we all wish her a speedy recovery and to press charges and move on with her wonderful career and we can’t wait to see her in public again more beautiful than ever I’m sure.

Why did their bouncers sit there and watch him do this to her. There had to be at least two 300 lb men there hired to protect them and that what stood there and watched? pathetic!

Naw apparently Rihanna is refusing press charges, or the label is pressurizing her to stay silent.
Daaaaaaamn who knew that little boy was a woman beater already, his mummy must be ashamed if his silly ass right about now.
All i know is if dude hit me…damn i wudda bust his ass something terrible!

“many women (and men) have been in the same situation where they are a victim of domestic violence.”
you make it sound like it is a common thing to happen, as if it’s normal, but it’s not! It’s absolutely unacceptable and should be prevented no matter what! What kind of education did Chris Brown get to think he could hit a girl. Of course Rihanna should “go forth and continue to life [live] to the fullest,” but that’s doesn’t stop it from happening again! Rihanna, make him suffer! Make sure he knows how wrong his conduct was.

We don’t know the full story. I do however believe that he hit her. I know some people close to him are trying to say it was a car accident.
1.He left his car at the scene. Why would you leave a $150,000+ car on the street unattended?
2.His stepfather used to abuse his mom. Statistics show that those that have been exposed to abuse usually repeat the cycle.
3.She has bruises & bite marks. Do you know anyone that has obtained bite marks from a car accident? Me either!

We have not heard the full story, people. I have read alot of sites and there are so many stories floating. I think they both were wrong including their publists and security. They new they had been fighting for weeks and they still made them continue to be together to fool the paparzzi, how silly. Now looked what happen Chris is in shit up to his head, even if it was self defense. His reputation is going to have to be earned all over again. I pray for both of them because thats what they need right now, God in there corner. They are so talented and I hope everything works out for them. Keep your head up Chris! I wish you the best Rhianna

I must say this story seems very tricky! I believe that they both crossed the line. I hope the TRUTH comes out for both of their sake. Plus I have heard that Ri is known for bustin on Breezy

He is a mess for this. A HOT DAMN mess. Now, we don’t know the whole story, and per our justice system, he is innocent until proven guilty. However, I’m hard pressed to think about any situation in which it would be okay for Chris to beat a woman to that degree.
The only thing I can think of is when your life is in danger. Even if Rihanaa did start the fight, unless she’s using a knife, gun, or the like in said fight, he could have just restrained her, pulled over, got her out of the car, called the police himself, or whatever. But an ass whoopin is NOT in order. And that’s saying alot, because we don’t even know what set him off.
She might not have started any physical contact, in which case he’s even more wrong. Personally, I wonder if he got mad because Rih Rih was gonna bust him out for lovin’ the Mangina. Come on y’all…like y’all ain’t wondered if Chris Breezy is down with the man love or not! That might set his tail up to lose it too.

I sure wish we would stop making Chris out to be the monster, we don’t know what happen in the car, we don’t know who started it, and im sorry if a woman hits a man first, than she needs to be prepared to get hit back point blank range, women get crazy too and need to be handled just like crazy men need to be handled so don’t judge neither Chris or rihanna until the true is revealed now I have spoken,

I can’t believe how some people are actually “defending” Chris in all of this. If you call yourself a man, you don’t put your hands on a woman (unless its warranted.) Its that simple.
I will be deleting all my Chris Brown songs off itunes as of right now.
I don’t support woman beaters…

I dont kno what to think but im a huge fan of chris and something is not right about this whole thing. It still does not seem right. Sef defense is self defense. If you are hitting me and i want you off i am going to do everything in my power to get you off of me (man or woman)and i am a women. Rihanna was to mature for him anyway not saying he is immature she was just more exposed. Its just so hard for me to beleive any of it. I also wanted to say if he was defending himself that is not a woman beater that is self defense . Now if he just got up that dad and said imma beat her ass, well thats different and they he needs help. Personally i think he was trying to defend himself when she went crazy on him and he just went to far. But that is only what i concur from the media and we all know they cant be trusted. All i ask is that you pray for both of these talented singers and their family. When all else fails try God.Oh yeah i am very sad at the fact that his career is over he was such a good kid. He should of just stayed single. One last thing Rihanna probably had the feeling if i cant have him no on will (well thats for sure now) I am disappointed in you Chris.

Like ImpartialGirl said, the man is always the damn monster! Hell, nobody knows what the hell she did…she hit him first…and he reacted to that last damn hit. Any smart ass female would know, or at least I hope…hitting a 6′2 200 something pound man is not a good idea, playing? then its fine, but she wasn’t damn playing. Beat her? please! Chris was protecting himself. A man gets tired of that mess…AND I’M NOT SAYING WHAT HE DID WAS RIGHT, but she’s not the only one with marks. As for his fans base, I’m not worried…I know his true “Number one fans” are behind him, that I am. Chris is young and still learning, people do this everyday, they’re in the public eye..and hell media blows this crap out of the water….so yeah…

No matter what the circumstance was, Chris should never put his hands on a woman period.
I hope they lock him and throw away the key.
I am disgusted about this whole thing as a female.
If man hits a woman, then he is a punk end of story.
Rihanna stay strong and drop that zero.
You’re too fierce for him anyways.

People crack me up with their notion of lock the dude up for hittin her!
Listen closely, If he hit her then he should be locked up, AND if she hit him she should be locked up. Just cause you get yo ass whooped don’t mean you shouldn’t be charged also!
If she started it she should be locked up and all charges should be dropped against CB cause if a person is so fuckin stupid that they will hit a person they know they can’t beat then they should get what ever is coming.
Men please don’t hit yal women.
Women don’t be stupid and think he won’t hit you back.

What I don’t understand is all the people saying things like: “well if you hit a man you should be prepared to be hit back”
Yes it’s a double standard but if a man his own size attacked him or a woman the size of rihanna attacked him… Realistically, who do you think would physically inflict the most damage on Chris Brown?
You can’t attack a woman like she’s a man, and then say well she hit me she should take it like a man. She’s a WOMAN. Unless she was given a baseball bat or something a woman cannot be equal to a man in a physical fight.
He should have walked away from her is she really was trying to provoke him or attack him.
It’s part of being a man. Just as there are certain things women have to accept as part of being a woman. If you don’t know that as a man, then you are lost.

there is no excuse 4 hitting anyone. ever. no matter what was said, how many times it was said, etc. if she did something crazy, he should have left… on foot if it came 2 it.
i’m willing 2 bet she was not threatening his life with a weapon…
even if she hit him 1st. what he should have done was remove himself from he situation. i doubt chris was afraid 4 his life whatever happened sunday night with rhianna.
dude, seriously, rhianna?!! u must be crazy.
something is wrong with u when the only way u can handle a negative situation is 2 begin beating on someone.
statistics show, if that’s who u are & that’s what u do, u can’t change. so i can no longer ride your train, chris.

Even more disturbing than the story itself is the response it’s getting. I never believed, in 2009, that we’d still have so many people out there quick to jump on Rihanna and say she must have deserved it. Obama’s President, y’all. We need to do better.
It doesn’t matter what Rihanna did to Chris. She may be the clingiest bitch to ever date a celebrity, but that gives Chris Brown NO right to put his hands on a woman the way he did. Even if she hit him first, it doesn’t matter. She’s in the hospital, he isn’t. She had a busted lip, bites on her fingers, and bruises and contusions from MULTIPLE blows to the face. So even if he WAS defending himself (which I doubt because the she was the one screaming), there is NO excuse for him to beat her up like a GROWN ASS MAN. Unless Rihanna was coming at him with a fuckin’ baseball bat he didn’t have to PUNCH HER in the FACE multiple time to defend himself. There is no excuse.
There is NO excuse.
I feel bad for Chris Brown, but I am by no means going to sit here and excuse what he did. No matter what the story is, he clearly has anger issues, and should get some help.
And you, SEVCHICK, should be ashamed of yourself. You say WE have no idea what happened because we weren’t there? Well neither were you. You don’t know Chris Brown is innocent anymore than we know he’s guilty. But you know what? Atleast WE aren’t ignoring the facts, and the FACTS are Rihanna was in the hospital yesterday after being attacked by Chris Brown. It doesn’t matter WHY. There’s just no excuse for that level of violence unless he was defending his life, and there is NO indication that that was the case. It doesn’t matter if you hate Rihanna and was slob on Chris Brown’s hairy balls, NO woman deserves to be attacked to that extremity. You really should be ashamed yourself.
It is people like you that make victims of violence afraid to come forward and speak out against it for fear that they will be judged and further victimized.

I am still very much undecided about all the CB/RiRi Drama…but i would like to know why everyone is so quick to condemn Chris…there have been no definite reports about what happened and NO ONE really knows what the hell went down…as a Caribbean woman i kno how hot blooded i am and i have knocked guys around without even thinkin about it. If in fact he did hit her…he was wrong…but lets not thro homey under a bus and jump to defend a woman who may have been gettin her just deserts. i’m jus sayin

I am utterly appalled at the number of people that are blaming RiRi for being beaten and put into the hospital by the hands of Chris. The fact remains RiRi identified HIM as her attacker. IF RiRi hit him first and he hit her back defending himself, then that is ONE hit, a reflex hit, but CHRIS beat her REPEATEDLY in her face! That is unforgivable. What he did was WRONG! No matter how you slice it. No matter how you try to make excuses for Him, he hit her like she was a man, and in my eyes that makes him a CHILD! He is NO longer a man in my eyes. I don’t care how angry he was; you don’t put your hands on a woman. If RiRi hit him, he should have stopped his car, put her out and called the police, but instead he decided to beat her. One reflex pop in the face might be understandable, maybe even forgiven if she hit him first, BUT he hit her, and punch her again and again putting her in the HOSPITAL! He didn’t think with his head, he reacted with his fist. And now he’s paying the price for his irresponsibility. Serve his a$$ right. Maybe next time he’ll think twice about putting his hand on a woman. Ri did NOT deserve to be beaten, he could have killed that girl. Why don’t some of you get off his d*ck long enough to see that HE made the CHOICE to beat her! HE made the CHOICE to act with violence instead of calling the cops. So I don’t feel sorry for him. And then had the NERVE to flee the scene leaving her with a bloody face. He didn’t feel any remorse for his actions. He was a coward! I’m in Ri’s corner 100%!

Jessica I so agree with some of the things you typed…. the idea that he was justified in what he did because she “provoked” him is ridiculous… like you I could almost understand reflex hit but to continually hit and possibly bite her… come on there is no justicifation for that…
However unlike you I actually feel sorry for Chris… his career was in the position to take of in ways he never thought imaginable and because of his actions I don’t think all of the successes that was about to come him will ever completely come again. Yes in time this whole situation will pass and he will again go on with his career but it won’t be all that could have been. He will forever be labeled and have the stigma of an abuser no matter what he does… and that’s pretty sad…. not only that I actually like the kid and it’s sad that its come to this…
One other thing I have to say… I’ve seen sooo many posts claiming that Rihanna was too clingy and that’s what destroyed the relationship… where were these same people when Chris followed her on the Glow In The Dark Tour, when she had spot performances overseas, when she had photoshoots, when she had video shoots…. if she was clingy what was he? They both are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope they both can come through this as better people….

why does the man always have to be the one to walk away?? why cant the woman walk away instead of starting a fight and hitting him??? people are NOT gonna sit there and let someone constantly hit on them..women need to learn to keep their hands to themselves just as much as men do.people can only take but so much of people’s BS and thats what seemed to happen here.

what if she was hitting him and he did hit her back and she continued to fight?? i guess he’s just supposed to sit there and take it or “walk away” while she’s right behind him hitting him still. NO! she knew how big he was BEFORE she started beating him so she KNEW what she was getting herself into, im not saying that he was right but im just saying that all of this could have been prevented

Okay…His charges have been dropped right?? Yeah ok. Chris, I wish he would’nt have hit her, I know his mother taught him wayy better than that, BUT…Rihanna should of been smart enough to know, hitting a man, not in the play sense was not a good idea. He was already heated, she was heated..sooo there. He is a big guy, and his hits are more powerful than hers, she wasn’t thinking. People get tired of the hitting at some point..its probably a good reason he left, I mean…his anger could have pushed him to do something more worse…live and learn. And that statement his stepdad made…damn crazy. “Not surprised”…man go head…he abused his mother…Chris has learned and hopefully she has too…

That little faggot bastasrd. Their is nothing rhianna could have done to deserve such a beating.
Rhianna is an ASS if she allows this bitch ass criminal to get off; the matter of fact its not in her hand any more because the Law authomatically presses charges due to her injuries.
If she has any brothers, they should bust his ass.

i’m so disgusted with how everyone including you B baby are handling this. rhianna almost ruined darnells super 16 with her “jealousy and immaturty. she acted as is darnell should only entertain her and it was HIS party.” did u all see the episode where she copped a tude ,”i see them girls flockin u” and then pounted and acted stank!?! she also admitted to smashing her brother with a glass bottle and “no REALLY fighting” them….
i am in no way making excuses but asking EVERYONE to grow the fuggup and listen to both sides! i would bet my life rhi rhi got jealous and went into a rage hitting him. with the bites he probaby was trying to get her offa him. remember many blogs ago chris’s mother expressed a dislike for her saying she might have used voodoo on him? she’s extremely controlling and jealous and her temper is volatile is what his momma said. and it concerned her AT THE BEGINNING! HA! she saw this coming! don’t be so judgemental!
AND ANOTHER THING! did her publicist not say how they were masters at inventing and spinning things?! BScott u reported this suga! said they made the whole jay z thing up….i smell some damage control! they had to pounce on chris because rhi rhi represents more $ for the white elite, gucci, music etc….chris represents that scary evil black man that’s only good for the occassional working then they turn on him when he’s spent…

Tahani, sorry but sounds like you are making excuses for him and blaming her for being beaten by him. Yeah I guess it really is her fault, always blaming the victim. He HIT her! Beat her like she was a man! It doesn’t matter if she gets jealous or not, he’s a MAN! A real man NEVER puts his hands on a WOMAN! I pissed my ex off all the time, and even though he was a damn loser he NEVER put his hands on me. CB is a little boy and he needs to grow the fk up! IF she is the cause then why is he running, hiding out? He acting guilty why? because he knows what he did was WRONG! Blaming her won’t change that fact!

I think it is sad for both sides. Unfortunately, no one knows what happened in that car. Was it defense was it not. Who knows? I have three older brothers and have seen my brothers hit and beaten by women that believe “I am a girl you should not hit me”. I have a daughter of my own. And I teach my son not to hit girls but I also teach my daughter if you dont want to be hit then dont hit a boy. Unfortunately, no one knows the story. Seriously, if Chris Brown went public that Rih was hitting him do you think he would have gotten this kind of love. Of course not! I dont think he was right to hit her. But before everyone throws Chris away you should hear the entire story. Unfortunately, that is why male abuse is hardly ever reported. I think really both of them need to leave each other alone period. I think if anyone has gotten you to the point that you want to hit them for whatever reason….then it is OVER offically!
