When they was coming up with the concept of this movie called “Cadillac Records”, did anybody even ask Ms. James if she would be cool with Beyonce portraying her? Furthermore , did Beyonce ask Ms. James if she could sing the song in public ?There are infringement laws to deal with and Beyonce may have overstep her bounds when she sang it at the ball.

When they did the movie “Ray”, the people involved had to get clearance from the master himself to see if he would be cool with Jamie Foxx portraiting him and thank God he did. He even taught Jamie some things about him that made the movie more authentic.

I’m not saying Ms. James, who is; btw, a freaking legend, was right or ladylike in her comments about Beyonce (because she wasn’t) but before ripping her to shreds, you might need to check for the reason WHY it went done the way it did.

On on the subjejct of Ms. Etta James being old and whatever…hell I hope i look half as good as she does in my old age as she does right now.

Even though i dont agree how Etta went about saying what she said, but i totally understand how she feels. its her signature song and imo Etta shouldve sang the song instead of no soul singing beyonce. im tired of people saying if it wasnt for beyonce some people wouldntve known who Etta James is. thats a lie because Christina did the song over and they performed the song together and Christina have way more fans that beyonce.

abd beyonce so called payed homeage to Etta, first off beyonce never called Etta to ask about her life, so how is that paying homage?

I’m just saying we’re all human and feelings sometimes get hurt. So it doesn’t have to be about hating all the time. Etta could have went about it another way but hey that’s the way it is sometimes. LOL like someone says once you reach a certain age you’ve earned the right to say what you want to.

If it wasn’t for Beyonce, Etta James wouldn’t even have been brought up . So she should be thankinq her instead of puttinq her down .
