Jennifer Hudson emerged from seclusion at Sunday night’s Super Bowl to sing a stirring rendition of the national anthem. In her first public performance since her mother, brother and nephew were slain in October, the Oscar winner delivered a splendiferously divine version of the anthem. Jennifer knocked it out of the park! She was amazing. Yes, she lip synched – but almost everyone does, you just never hear about it. It was at the insistance of the musical director, we all know Jennifer doesnt need to lip synch or prove herself. It was still her voice, no studio trickery…FYI, Whitney’s version was lip synched as well!

most people lip synch the national anthem. specially at big events like this. Jhud looked amazing and sounded even better

I loved her rendition of this song and I couldn’t even tell that she was lip-synching, nor did I care. She’s beautiful and its great to see her out again.

This is why JHUD got an OSCAR. The girl stepped up ,looked around and took a deep breathe and sang the hell out of the National Anthem. If it had not been reported 90% of the nation would not have known.
This girl has natural talent.
Last, everyone talking about her lip synching, but no one was complaining about any performances at the inauguration balls and all of them were pre-recorded.

It seems every artist has lipped the superbowl anthem performance so I dont get why everyone is so shocked that Jhud did the same. Its a prerequisite for performing, artists have to lip it.
Anyway Jhud did an amazing performance! Her voice is incredible, I felt chills that I don’t get when I hear Whitney or some other artists sing. Jhud just has an incredible voice.

Well B, It seems like everyone have to lip sync because the stadium is soooo bigggg. The echo will mess her up like crazy…. I think thats why alot of artists does that.

her performance was ok, she did good. but at the superbowl, everybody lip sync their performance. oh well cant please everybody.

my favorite version is whitney’s but jhuds was right op there with her. she was really really AMAZING!!!i guess im the only one who didnt know that all the artist lip the anthem. lol. i really didnt know that. oh well.

I just don’t get the controversy with this. Lip Sync or not, JENNIFER SANG THE HELL OUT OF THAT SONG.
I really wish media outlets will also REINFORCE the fact that FAITH HILL AND BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN pre-recorded their performances as well in order to control mishaps as well.
It ain’t as if Jennifer can not sing…we all know she can sing circles around most “artists”.
I will take her Lip Sync version over live performances of most of these female singers any day. The End.

whether she lipp’d it or not she sounded amazing.
like everyone else has said, most people have to lip to a previous recording. just the way it is. she prob still sang but just with the mic off.

I agree with Coffee, i just listened to Whitney’s and JHud, and JHud had Whitney beat! JMO.
