January 30, 2009 New Video: Jazmine – Lions, Tigers & Bears

Jazmine Sullivan finally released a music video for her single “Lions, Tigers & Bears”. I love it! The voice, as usual, sounds splendiferous and unique just like the actual video. Thoughts?

  • I enjoyed that video a lot!! I enjoyed Jazmine as well. I love the violins they added a nice touch to the video. They were subtle, but they made an impact. The only critique that I have is that should could have used some better looking people. Lol

  • I love, love, love this song!!!

One of my favorites off of her album. I think that this video is great! Really unique and I love how the art and colors that spread throughout the video and flow with the music.

    Very nice indeed.

  • i quite like it. as quirky as it was

  • There kinda late doin the video..but it was good

  • This is a beautiful song, I loved it the very first second I heard it. But to be honest, Jazmine (although I love my Philly native) always disappoints me when it comes to her videos. For instance.. ‘Bust your Windows’ …Why wasn’t she busting windows in the video?? …This video is pretty unique, and creative, but where is the Lion? Where is the Bear? You know what I mean? …There’s always something missing that if it wasn’t missing the video would be spectacular. …Jazmine is very talented, and she’s a beautiful young woman. But I can never get into her videos (lol) ..They always leave me hanging, kind of like a Lifetime Movie (lol). ….Is it just me, or does this video remind you a lot like a T-Pain creation?? …Hmm, maybe the same director? : ) ..Anywho, she’s a beast! Just wasn’t very impressed with this video. C’mon Jaz! : )

  • I love anything Jazmine does. This vid to me was a step up from the other too because of it’s subliminal messages. You really had to pay attention to see that it was a play of the Wizard of Oz. The yellow brick road, the scarecrow getting a brain was the couple in the blue, the coawardly lion who got his strength was the couple in the purple, and the tin man that got a heart was the couple in the orange.

I love the video, but I too, was wondering about the lion and the bear… but I do like tigers, so it was all good…lol… I was also wondering who the director of the video was, because it is very reminiscent of T-Pains chopped and screwed video… the arguing of the couples didnt make alot of sense to me, if I directed the vid, I would have focused on one couple, and shown the struggles of letting oneself trust again after getting hurt previously, but overall I still give the video a solid 10 for being visually stunning, and and for jazzy being the beast she is…

  • Jaylea B. I have to agree with you. I love Jazmine’s songs but the videos always leaving me wanting more. I felt she shoulda been busting some windows out of somebody’s car and where the hell was the bear, lions, and tigers for this one. It reminds me of an old SWV video where they singing about the RAin but its snowing in the damn video, what kinda trump foolery is that??? Great song though. Video is disappointing. Blue06 I agree that boy was ugly in this video.

  • Honey say that! I am just glad to have Jazmine around cause it has been a while since I have actually heard an artist actually sang about something that has meaning. I love her voice and hope that she does not get over looked like some of the other soulful singer(J. Scott, India A, etc) that be having a word for your soul. I will keep supporing her in everything that she does and just hope she hits us with “Resentment” and “In Love with another Man” If you have not heard I suggest you get to listening. Whole album is great!

  • i love the song and i love the concept of the video. she have one of the best cds in 2008. hell shes the only one im rocking. alot of artist let me down (brandy, keyshia cole, and musiq soulchild)Jazzmine cd is so much better than all of their put together.

  • Ok, I didn’t like the song until now. The video was definitely a play on the Wizard of Oz. Twanw explained it very well so no need to reiterate.

  • I love this song the first time I heard it I cried, her voice is so beautiful.

  • Jazmines a true gem and the concept of the video is really what make it hot – Soon as I saw her on the yellow brick road I was floored – She nominated for 5 Grammys man so listen up
