January 29, 2009 Kelly Splits From Matthew Knowles!
Love muffins, the time has come that Kelly Rowland and Matthew Knowles have finally parted ways as far as her music is concerned. Both have released a statement regarding the split.
“After a very positive meeting between Kelly Rowland and myself, we have amicably agreed to end our professional relationship. My company, Music World, will continue to manage Destiny’s Child as a group. As an artist Kelly has incredible talent and I only wish her the best. We will always be family first and foremost and as a dad I can only have love for Kelly.”

“Matthew Knowles has been a positive influence in my career. I have had great success under his guidance–both as a member of Destiny’s Child and with my solo projects. Although we have decided to part ways professionally, the Knowles family and the entire Music World Entertainment team will always be my family.”
I think it was a good thing the two split. Kelly has a huge fan base in the UK, so her new camp can promote her the way she needs to be promoted. Thoughts?

THANK GOD!! I mean it about TIME!! i strongly believe its the best ting that happened to her. No Matter what they say however i kno it will have sum hard feelin’s, but say wht! He will always put his REAL Daughter 1st!!

but either way maybe this will be good for her careeer…I think she’s great she just doesn’t get as much publicity as she deserves…Hopefully this will only help her.

Now I like the Knowles but I’m happy Kelly made this move. This was a long time coming. At what point do you ge tried of being second. Kelly has great talent and she is a pretty girl. Its time for Kelly to shine like the STAR we all know she can be.

I think this is a smart move. Now matthew can realy set his focus and energy on his baby girls(like he was before). Now i only hope Michelle Willaims follows Ms.Kelly and tell them all duce!!!

I AM SO PROUD OF KELLY ROWLAND. THE ONLY MEMBERS FROM DESTINYS CHILD TO REACH NUMBER ONE HAVE BEEN LETOYA AND BEYONCE ONLY, NOW KELLY THAT HAS IMMANCIPATED HERSELF SHE CAN FINALLY REACH NUMBER ONE AS WELL.

So, Destiny’s Child is still a group? What happened to them permanently being separated. I did catch that part of the statement. Destiny’s Child sold millions as a group. Beyonce has not surpassed those sales as a solo artist. By this time in Michael Jackson’s adult solo career, he had surpassed the Jacksons with one or two CDs. I know Beyonce is the lead singer of DC, but this group cannot just disappear yet.

Well, I for one has said since jump that kelly needed to understand that she can still be loyal to the fam without having Matthew handle her business… its clear where his main focus is… But, Matt tipped his hand a tad bit on two counts, he semi-confirmed that kelly is his daughter…lol and semi-confirmed that DC3 is not completely done…(New album in at least a year and a half??? lol) but overall good for kelly, new promotions, new album… its a new day for Kelendria…

ok Kelly is NOT Matthew’s daughter. shegrew up in the Knowles household because her mother had to work and asked them to take care of her. She’s been with them since she was a child. Please go back in time and watch old videos of Beyonce practicing at their home in Texas. (u might have to find Behind the Music or something similar to that) Anyway Kelly was there and she’s been lyk a cousin/sister to B. Anyway i’m glad she’s steppin out. I wish her many blessings

I think this is a good thing, Kelly Rowland, although steadily getting better, hasnt had the success Beyonce has. But she also doesnt have the push behind her either. Even if they split in good friendship, fact is they split. If everything had been peachy there would have been no need to. Beyonce’s status ( if she wants it to be or not) will always be a definitive factor in the others girls success. maybe this move will allow Kelly a direction and simply more room to spread her wings. her way.
