December 10, 2008 Britney Spears To Come In At #1!
According to Hits Daily Double, Britney Spears’ new album Circus has now sold 504,507 copies making it her 5th #1 album (which is amazing when taking into consideration how early her album leaked on the internet)! Brit Brit is surely back on top selling more albums in her first week than Beyonce and Kayne West did with their recently released albums! Not only that, but tickets for her upcoming Spring tour have been selling like crazy, over 400,000 sold! I will be right there at her concert shaking my bagel buns and singing her lyrics at the top of my lungs! Congrats Britney for once again being the “ringleader”, you deserve it! Thoughts?

Britney cannot sing for shit! Even though the first week sales for this album are high, what about next week? People place so much emphasis on first week sales but most artists never keep up the momentum and have high/moderate sales the week after.
And after this album what will Britney do? She can’t keep regurgitating the same old formula otherwise her career will be dead. This album sounds soo much like Blackout, its the same formulaic nonsense. She has no identity as a person and it shows in her music.
If Barbie could “sing” she would sound exactly like Britney. I just think Brit has a lot of stepping up to do, Im not impressed with her performances or her music. And I wouldnt pay her to attend a concert where she is going to LIP SYnch, its not even good singing when its in the studio!

normally i don’t let these comments bother me bcuz it isn’t that deep but @ four eyes:
1. there’s emphasis on the first week sales of ANYONE’S cd. that’s just the way it is and will always be. why does it bother you they’re talking about her first weeks sales?? so what?? that’s where the emphasis is. they aren’t gonna talk about it in january
2. what does her lip singing have to do with her cd???? your whole comment was irrelevent but this one was SUPER irrelevent.
3. the girl has been out for 10 years which is entirely too long to be talking about how something may kill her career. that seriously made no sense
and the comment about ppl feeling sorry for her, if you paid attention to blackout so much you’d remember she did absolutely NOTHING to promote it which is why it didn’t sell like circus.

Why do u, B Scott, have to emphasize that Britney outsold Beyonce? To me, you are no better than Yung Berg with his dark butts comments. B Scott, you are not white, you are black. For you and other blacks to constantly celebrate and idolize a vocally talentless, can’t dance white woman who is in a higher social class than yourself is appalling to me. The fact that you as a black man would place Britney higher than someone that is worthy of praise like Beyonce because of her awe-inspiring singing and dancing capabilities is beyonce me. Both Beyonce & Britney are two super talented people. Those two along with Janet put on concerts better than anybody.
It is a fact that Britney outsold Beyonce and I’m pretty sure B.Scott brought it up b/c people were doubting that she could do it.

wOw. It’s a sad situation when you have someone like “DD” making such a crappy and idiotic comment such as that. But you know what people, don’t even give it any attention because someone like that doesn’t deserve the time nor day of our attention. People like that make up a very small percentage of today’s population that is quickly fizzling out. So leave “DD” and all the others with their ignorance and ignore them. Let them talk that nonsense to themselves and lets focus on those of us with conversation of substance and morality. ok..and we’re done, now….on to other news… Ofcourse everyone has always based alot of emphasis on first week sales..that’s what every artist anticipates. And while Britney may have done a huge whooper, which I think stems from the fact that she’s been out of the game a while, whereas Kanyne and Beyonce have been here producing and giving us material constantly, it’s all due to that comeback rush. I think the real numbers that actually matter come from the weeks after the first week because people can come all at once and then just stop and the album could fall…just like the single for instance…number one, then fell. But that’s besides the point, I always choose quality over these numbers..because at the end of the day it’s not the sales, it’s the product for most music goers and Beyonce’s album is remarkable and Britneys..although im not a huge huge fan..is quite good too. It’ll be interesting to follow the charts the coming weeks.
