Yup, he's a SCAM. Also, how the hell are the renting? At their age, their house should already be paid off. And don't trip about that $6k suit for the kiddo. It's all about perception. When this story first broke, Nene clearly stated that they have more than one home. As others have said, we're in a recession and things they once could afford they can't now. It doesn't mean they're broke and fronting for the cameras. Just because someone has money doesn't mean they have enough money to maintain two households, but please believe they still have money!
