December 3, 2008 NeNe Leakes Gets Evicted!
Love muffins, say it ain’t so! NeNe from Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta informed the press that she and her husband Gregory Leakes got evicted from their 5,000-square-foot, 5-bedroom home, because they owed owed $6,240 in past due rent.
“The tenant said they would move by Sept. 14th because they could no longer afford the house,” the notice read. [Nene told The Journal-Constitution that] “it’s none of your business [because we] are financial[ly] able and stable to live where ever we feel fits…You don’t know my relationship with Greg so be careful what you report!” US
What do you think? I mean, like she said it is not our business, but I want to know your thoughts – why couldn’t a couple, that clearly had money, not able to pay their rent?

I honestly dont buy this at all because of all the ladies Deshawn and Nene appeared to be the most genuine. After watching NeNe purchase a $6k suit for her son and a truck for him to go to school, I just honestly can’t buy one bit of this story.

Fantasy credit world is correct. And I need to move to Atlanta. That rent is really cheap for a 5,000 SF 5 bedroom house.

This is totally false. I actually live in close proximity to Kim, Nene, & Lisa as well as become very familiar with people they engage with. The only one fo the girls who currently has their house up for sale is Sheree. Nene & her husband were in talks to put there house up for sale to move to the country club community they originally moved from before purchasing their current house. YOU DONT HAVE RENT WHEN YOU PURCHASE A HOUSE, YOU HAVE A MORTGAGE… AT THAT TIME , IF THEY HAD NOT BEEN PAYING THERE MORTGAGE THEN THE HOUSE WOULD GO INTO FORECLOSURE BY THE BANK THEY FINANCED IT THROUGH.
THE TERM “EVICTION” IS ONLY APPLIED TO RENTAL PROPERTIES.

Actually if you read the original article from AJC, Nene states that the property was a rental, so eviction is the appropriate term.

Folks the cost of living is much different in atl vs. cali or nyc. Sad to say some realize that we are in recession and are more wise when purchasing things. DeShawn knows she has to back down off her spending now that Eric is retiring.None of us know NeNes story so there are many reasons ppl get evicted and its possible that whom ever they were renting from scam them.Im just saying i’ve seen it b4. Oh and let be none of yo business so dont judge next time it might be u!!!!!!!!!

According to another report, they were staying in the house because if was part of a cooperate deal with her husbands company. The deal between Greg and the company did not work out so they left and if you notice on the show, the house is a little empty. Anyway, they got money and like my girl said its really none of our business

it is our business because she put all her business out there on cable HD TV! That said, I do not care to make it my individual business because I think she is a ridiculous person.

This story has come up before. The first time it came up, it was just the beginning of the threats of being evicted for being behind in their rent and now this is the follow up. When this story first broke, Nene clearly stated that they have more than one home. As others have said, we’re in a recession and things they once could afford they can’t now. It doesn’t mean they’re broke and fronting for the cameras. Just because someone has money doesn’t mean they have enough money to maintain two households, but please believe they still have money!

They better start watching Oprah… live the truth!!! People (not only her, if the story is true) live beyond their means for appearance purposes… it’s not hard to believe that she probably is going through financial issues seeing as most people with money to speak of, are. Hope she gets it straight because no one deserves to lose their home!

I tried that search and Nene had 3 cases (03, 06 & 8/10/09 (as in MONDAY).
Gregory, the investor hubby HAS AN ENTIRE portfolio of cases ranging from Bad Checks, Child support arrears, receiving stolen property (i bet that was a coincidence…), Income deduction orders and a mess of other cases…. Yup, he’s a SCAM.
Also, how the hell are the renting? At their age, their house should already be paid off.
And don’t trip about that $6k suit for the kiddo. It’s all about perception. You know that was returned after the show. LOL
