November 24, 2008 MTV Africa Music Awards!
Kelly Rowland performed with D’Banj at MTV’s Africa Music Awards 2008 at the Abuja Velodrome Saturday night in Nigeria. She accepted the award for Best R&B on behalf of Alicia Keys. The Game (who decided to show his chestacles) performed at the awards as well. Don’t forget to view more pictures after the jump –

wut r guys talking about, because she performed in africa doesnt make her less an artist as before. And about picking up award on behalf of Keys, am sure the organisers would have asked her if she doesnt mind. Its no big deal. No wonder she loves in here in London.

Hey guys,
Seriously ya’ll Chill!!
Kelly, The Game, Flo Ryda where ALL in Nigeria for the first MTV Africa Music Awards (yes there’s MTV in Africa)
She was a performer at this event, so was Game, Flo Ryda, D’Banj and loads of other African artists. I’ve been to the MTV Europe Music awards and this show was no less than any other (it was actually better than most)
This was a strong career move and also a great performance from Her
It’ll air on ALL MTV channels so watch out for it.
Cheers

wtf is wrong with ya’ll? ya’ll act like she workin at a clothing line store or somethin? shes accepting an award for someone else so what? its so annoying how people blow shit all out of wack off of one simple harmless thing. if anything you all need to get it together. at least she on tv and in africa at an award show instead of watching one..

that’s cool taht she’s exposing herself to a varied audience. HoWEVER, accepting an award on behalf of Alicia Keys further makes you look irrelevant.

i’m just happy kelly is doing it big.she is inspiring little african girls and doing everyone proud.i’m happy for her.Africa however needs african women to inspire them but it starts from little steps so its all good.
It was an African Music Awards so i think we need to see more of the African artists whom the main focus of this awards show was on.can we see their talent please.

To those opposing to Kelly performing and receiving an award on behalf of peers, it appears that you lot have never known or seen the acts of a humble and noble person. If i may speak for Kelly, she is not snobbish to feel she is too good to mingle with others unlike some artist who would not dare set foot in Africa because they regard themselves DIVAS and rather in a higher league. For example, try to picture Beyonce or Pink sharing their stage spotlight with an African artist, you cant picture it because they think the sun shines out of their buttocks and yet humble Kelly gets knocked for doing good. So please stop all that smack talk against Kelly!

This goes out to all of you that thinks we Africans are low life people that shouldn’t be associated with.Well, know that you all are very wrong.
We are wonderful people with amazing talents, so if you think Kelly did wrong by coming to Nigeria, then i think you really have to get your heads examined. As for taking an award for keys, i would like to ask if you guys over there do not do the same or is it because we are Africans?
I LOVE YOU KELLY!!!
