November 8, 2008 Usher’s New LP & Rihanna Doing Fine
Even though Usher is touring right now and his second child is due in December, he is about to hit us with another album in 2009. Usher is excited, because “Ne-Yo is actually potentially gonna be a part of this project. On the last one we didn’t work together until the very end — hopefully we are gonna try and get together early.” Of course you know Ne-Yo loves the idea. He was one of the first people to tell Usher that “[he] didn’t think [Usher] was focused on the album … on Here I Stand…[He doesn't] think his focus was in the right place.”
Well I am happy to hear that, because I am ready to drop it like its hot! I am also happy to report that Rihanna is doing just fine. According to her rep, “It was very hot at the venue, so after Rihanna’s set was over, she went offstage and needed to sit down, catch her breath and have some water. She is perfectly healthy and will be at her show tomorrow.” Thoughts?

Yes B. Scott, thank goodness Ri Ri is okay. A lot of folks at the concert said Chris ran backstage after she collapsed and was by her side the entire time, poor thing.

OH Usher…. I hope I hope I hope, you can. So many see him as a father now and not the free spirit Playboy, but I am not speaking for us all. Just the overview of what I’ve seen and heard from friends & acquaintance.

Ok there is a such thang as over kill, and Usher needs to go sit down some where, wait a full 2 years and come out with an album in 2010. He’s newly married with a young child plus his stepsons and a new baby on the way that’s a lot of stress on a marriage. Its a blended family and to add on to it you have the celebrity status where your business is “Everyones business”. Not, to mention he is trying to “re-claim” his sex symbol image with these “intimate venues” concerts and having his mom back on his team is good for business, but with the tumultuous relationship that his wife and mother are known to have its probably playing some havoc with his personal life.
I have been a fan of Usher’s since I was 12 yrs old and met him here in NJ at the then “Natughty Store” owned by the rap group Naughty By Nature, when Usher’s biggest rival was Tevin Campbell (who is not aging well). So, I believe I have the right to a pretty valid opinion when I say “Here I Stand” has been his first flop in my opinion and trying to salvage what could have been a decent success on top of all of the other not so stellar press he has been received over the year, will over shadow any new album that he has in the works for the coming year.
